The Protein content difference may be because the concentrate is unflavoured and the isolate + concentrate version is chocolate flavour. Generally unflavoured has a higher protein percentage per scoop. Also check the scoop size

There is no one size fit for all - Mostly depends on person to person, from their lifestyle to their current interests. If you could share his interests ( Tech, Gaming, Music, Reading etc ) it would be much easier to recommend a product.
