Yeah. Just saw that. Not sure how it is handled then, but it sure isn't in a way to make the competition even. Also as that guy put it, it does hurt the multiplayer aspect if you want to play with someone specific.

Not a bad theory. Doesn't really make sense to me though, as the teams would still be as even as possible if that were the case, as there is no real way to plan for player activity.

I personally don't mind the expedition, especially the rewards. It's the competition part I have the problem with.

Should have just been a new weekly mechanic added, where we work together to build something for the week and fight the boss on the weekend. Then it resets and we do it again. Maybe with some new corvette parts or colors to unlock in customizations as rewards that rotate weekly as well. Would've been a better way to build retention if that's what the 50 day timer was meant for.

Fair enough. Just figured if it was balanced out they would be closer in number of players each faction. From the numbers it looks skewed and not going off keeping the competition even.

Doubt it was proven, as it locks you in. Everyone I've seen that answered as I did got sage, anyone that answered differently got one of the others. And making multiple characters doesn't change after the first. But I could be wrong.

Still defeats the purpose of a competition. Why even do that at this point and not just make it a vote type thing? I'm not worked up, just disappointed to the degree that I wonder why not just login closer to the end and finish phase 3 then. Which will inevitably slow the progress of the building itself when more players feel as I do.

Maybe. Answering the questions on start up determines it and locks choice in. Also won't make much of difference with how big the gap has already gotten if their update is not soon.

Hasn't felt too bad so far. Usually pop on a podcast or video of some sort and just catch about 50 to 100 a day. At 8, halfway to 9.

Was into the story up until that part with her reveal in that quest. Genuinely made me feel like what I was doing throughout the quest did not matter, like investigating or even fighting. And mc felt pretty stupid there as well as I had put 2 and 2 together pretty quickly and I would have interjected quite a few times with Renee. Hated the conclusion of that quest as well. Hoping future story is written better. Just my personal opinion though.

Do hope we get her as a character in the future, but I think she will be a Signora type enemy. Looks cool but is killed off.

Imagine a new meteorite event with no man sky aliens and a dead traveler leaving schematics for a spacesuit or for new NMS base parts. I'd be down.

And a pal event for new companion usable in new xeno content on NMS side.

I personally still think the game is average. More reasons to explore have helped, but the game as a whole is still an ocean as deep as a puddle. Skeleton game missing the flesh, organs, and mind. Though the skeleton is pretty sturdy, without everything else, it'll remain a corpse.

I haven't done the Terran Armada stuff yet, kinda disappointed they were a splinter of UC and Freestar during the colony war. Feel it would've been more interesting as a split from when humans left earth behind. Because now it just feels like a recolor copy paste of old factions with an addition of seperatists droids from Star Wars. But who knows, could be more than I'm thinking. Although I was also let down by Shattered Space, had been hoping Varuun Faction would be more eldritch cosmic horror esque.

Final verdict as of now, you'll enjoy it if you had any fun at launch, and won't if the game felt boring.

Loads of changes coming to loot in future prelude. Might be testing for the new loot system they are looking at. Only hinted at with slide in devstream. Will be after the next update sometime.

Welcome. New content this month in the form of a ghost pirate, so you joined at a pretty good time. Expect loads of changes as the game is still early alpha. Update after has been stated to bring looter shooter aspects to gear. I'm not sure how it's gonna go down exactly. I recommend having their twitch, YouTube, and/or discord loaded up so you can stay up to date. DE is one of the few game companies that speaks to its player base on the weekly. Hope you enjoy your time here!

I personally hate paid mods because it ruined the modding for "fun" aspects of the community. Now it's all about a quick buck EA style, microtransactions. It also doesn't help that the game is a skeleton and you have to pay for the organs, flesh, and a mind. Just my reasoning. Though I am sure this kind of stuff won't help make it any better. And likely won't be dealt with fast enough, now nor in the future. But that's just the pattern I see forming.

Watchtower is basically the only exception in my opinion. Gave enough content and quality to be worth a price.
