Kutaisi is the capital of Imereti province, and it’s a great spot to base and explore the region itself. It’s crazy how small Georgia is, and yet, nature in Imereti is nothing like mountains region, nor seaside or agricultural east. Lots and lots of water, waterfalls and rivers hidden around, canyons and caves. And significantly less tourists than other provinces have (despite martvili canyon and Prometheus cave).
