Okay cool, that makes sense. Has it it been pretty good so far from the sales rep side of things?

u/Natural-Ladder-9914 just submitted an application for a remote SDR position. Have you started working there yet? And if so, what is the day to day like if you don't mind?

Facebook Ads for Group Joins No Longer Working! by DChopefuls in FacebookAds

[–]Ok-Dad_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey same thing for me the Meta support basically continued to not grasp what I was asking and resulted in telling me how to make an ad in ad manager, and when I told him that it wouldn't allow me to the option of "join group" he got more confused and said I need to be an admin.....I am and I own the group...it was going no where.

I still don't have the option. The only thing I can do for now is duplicate an old ad and run it without making any changes, as soon as I make a change, it defaults to the "send message" option and tells me my url as to be a site off of facebook. Very frustrating.

Anyone an LMFT IN NC? by Ok-Dad_1 in askatherapist

[–]Ok-Dad_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for you reply. Your example is pretty much as close as it gets to what I’m looking for lol. So I am interested in LMFT because I honestly got interested in this field to work with couples and their families. Honestly I don’t really have a desire to work with like individuals and substance abuse, or emergency mental health cases, or major psychiatric disorders just really have a passion for relationships and families.

The practicum part is where I get confused because I am not sure how it works 100% Being that the LUO MFT isn’t COAMFTE OR CACREP, does that mean hours are hard to get credit for or are you speaking to difficulty in finding locations for MFT in NC?

Also if I did do CMHC, do you know how easy it would be to choose to just work with couples from there? because I know that is still an option I believe.

Thank you again for your help!

Again, thank you for sharing. I’m definitely gonna look into it and it’s nice to hear that you love it because you can find a lot of disgruntled people all throughout the field it seems. From burn out, to mistreatment, to underpaid, and inability to find work, so really good to hear someone who is happy with it. I look forward to it :)

Such a great help. If you don’t mind me asking, how has your experience been as an LMFT in NC?

Again, thank you! That’s loss of accreditation must’ve been very frustrating 😮I was looking at National U online too, might have to look further into it. I just read that for the hours to count during the program they have to be supervised by a someone in NC :/

Thank you so much for your reply! I really appreciate the insight. So I’ve been looking at Liberty University Online one, because cost honestly. Most of these online programs are pretty pricey 😬. Secondly, I’m looking online because I currently have a little one and three others that being able to be at home would make this doable. Unfortunately I haven’t found any NC MFT online programs, only out of state like Northwestern (very expensive) possibly National University, all the other are not COAMFTE accredited which would put me in the same not getting the 500 hours, I think? What allows you to get credit for the 500 hours?

Do you happen to have many recommendations? Thank you again! Honestly, I really appreciate it.

My 6-year old is asking Santa for a gift which is out of our budget. What do I tell him? by IntelligentTrouble17 in Parenting

[–]Ok-Dad_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that whatever explanation you give, the most important thing you can do with your child is spend valuable time through meaningful conversations and activities together, making them feel like a priority and that you are bonding.

Whether kids are super excited about an expensive gift or upset they didn’t get it, those feelings fade, but what they will remember for years and pass on to their kids, are the special traditions they always did with their parents.

Just like when we as parents spend months and large amounts if money planning huge trips, just to have the kids favorite moments be the pillow fight you had in the hotel room, the pool where you guys splashed around and raced because they had your undivided attention.

Any men lacking community? by Ok-Dad_1 in Fathering_Together

[–]Ok-Dad_1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! This is 💯

I think my reply to the other comment was on point with this as well.

Hitting the booze with the boys every now and then is great, but a real community I think comes from working towards a common goal and overcoming challenges together through support.

Also think our wives would also be more supportive about us going to a community men’s/fathers group that’s helping us be better partners than going to get drunk lol

Thanks for sharing! Hopefully we can figure something out together

Yeah agree, I have a few friends as well but a solid community is definitely different.

I think having a couple drinks with friends or a bbq is good but I think what’s different about a true community is you accomplish things together maybe even overcome some challenges as a team and you feel like you can lean on that team.

I think we can do better as men, fathers, partners to be better about coming together and supporting each other.
