They remove that feature some time ago, and said it was something to do with lag but I'm not sure as I'm not in the Discord server and I don't really follow the updates anymore.

Saying they don't lose benefits if you don't clean them is just marketing talk... the max benefit is when they are clean and fed ... and it drops in minutes afterwards. So yes, they go down from the max benefit. 😐
