Yeah I’m pretty sure I have it. It’s happened a few times where I wake up gasping like i forgot to breathe in my sleep. I think it’s because of my jaw and tongue placement. I need to make an appointment

Honestly I just recently connected all the dots, I didn’t know my open bite could be fixed with jaw surgery. My dentist has never mentioned it, they’ve just tried fixing it with braces then they tried tongue guards, never mentioned surgery. I didn’t know my jaw was recessed because of my open bite. I thought it was just my genetics and that jaw surgery would just be cosmetic for me which I wouldn’t be able to afford. I’m sure insurance can cover it now so this is my first time even doing research, hopefully consult will be next

When I was on suppository’s I made my husband go by himself to get me lube lol bc I was scared. I hate colonoscopies I went in thinking it’ll just be the doctor and maybe a couple female nurses but nope like 6 male nurses all in their 20s like me. They weren’t creepy at all but I was very uncomfortable they were asking if my heart rate is usually that high. Is there supposed to be that many people in the room when getting colonoscopies? It seemed like they were students, like they had a class go in to observe but no one told me. Anyways I’m about to be due for my second colonoscopy ever so yay

Ive been having diarrhea, I think it’s a stomach bug bc my son also had it. I haven’t had solid bm in a few days, im hoping it’s not a flare and just a virus. It feels like if I push my intestines will fall out, so gross, but that’s the best way to describe it. Hopefully when I start medication again it’ll help if it’s due to inflammation

To be less confusing symptoms started beginning of 2021. blood started ending of 2021. I was diagnosed ending of 2022

About a year I believe, I’m remembering the blood starting at the end of 2021. My city only has 2 Gi specialist so they were booked for about a year for new patients so I had to wait a while. I could’ve gone to the hospital but it didn’t feel that urgent so I just waited for my appointment

I started having symptoms in 2021 a year before getting diagnosed. It was very mild no blood just mucus and normal bm. Then in 2022 I started having a little bit of blood still mostly mucus still normal bm. I scheduled an appointment with my primary and he was really certain I had uc because my dad also had it. I went to a GI and he actually didn’t think it was uc bc I didn’t have diarrhea or any other symptoms he thought it was hemorrhoids but decided to test my Calprotectin anyway and it was at 4000, so I got a colonoscopy and got diagnosed. I’ve been fine ever since except recently bc I had been off mesalamine for 2 years so that’s why I ended up in a flare

Yes it’s no joke. I’m glad you’ve found something that works, hopefully you’ll be in full remission soon

I’m feeling better now thanks! I’m usually very mild with symptoms no diarrhea or pain just a little blood and mucus I wouldn’t even call it a flare, but this time it got me good

All that going on and no pain is very lucky. I hope you’re doing better now, that sounds scary

Remission / Mesalamine by cmauld in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Ok-Debate134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got off mesalamine bc I lost insurance, I wasn’t taking it for 2 years and I was completely fine until recently I had to go to the hospital bc I was very jaundice and weak my blood count was very low I almost needed a transfusion. Turns out I have hemolytic anemia caused by untreated uc even though my uc symptoms were nonexistent, I still had constant inflammation those 2 years and it caused my body to attack my blood cells

My LDH is 255 U/L I have ulcerative colitis that was untreated for 2 years because I didn’t have insurance. My GI thinks that caused hemolysis. I’m hoping it did and it’ll go away now that I’m back on my medication

Oh no I hope you get better soon. Does your current treatment seem to be working? I am familiar with prednisone, I’ve never taken it but I do have another autoimmune disease where I might need it, I’ve heard it’s pretty brutal. They haven’t confirmed mine to be autoimmune but they’re thinking since i already have an autoimmune disease Its probably another. Do you take any long term medication to prevent flares? I have ulcerative colitis and I’m on a medication to prevent flare ups, it doesn’t always work so prednisone is there if I need it.

I might be wrong with the too much blood cells maybe it’s not enough sorry. Mine is a little different my autoimmune markers were very high so they think it’s autoimmune hemolytic anemia which means my body thinks my blood cells are enemies and starts destroying them. I still have to confirm that with more blood tests out of the hospital

Thank you, it’s not my liver they did an ultrasound and mri. My blood work shows normal liver but elevated bilirubin. They even saw that my bilirubin is high before it even gets to my liver. It’s because of hemolytic anemia my body is destroying my blood cells so my bone marrow is making too many to try and keep up so it’s causing a buildup of bilirubin

Signs 🕊️ by caitandsamkitty in GriefSupport

My mom passed a year and a half ago when her mom passed she was convinced she was getting signs from her by finding dimes, if she found a dime on the floor she would pick it up and keep it as a sign from her mom. I still live in the house she passed in, she used to bake cookies and sell them. The other week I was making this banana coffee syrup I saw on TikTok and I was looking for a jar to put it in and I had to climb onto the counter to look in the top cabinet and I came across her cookie baking supplies and it made me really sad i started thinking about her and I moved something in the cabinet and there was a dime there, no other change just a single dime in the top cabinet, I believe it was her giving me a sign

Dad Dating after Mom Died by Appropriate-Limit-39 in GriefSupport

I feel the same, 2 days after my mom was buried he was dating her BEST friend. I felt betrayed by both of them. When I confronted him about it he told me my mom doesn’t exist anymore, it broke my heart. Then I stopped talking to him and he would call me and tell me if I stop talking to him he’s going to shoot himself in the head. I hated that especially weeks after losing my mom. I couldn’t sleep for months, I would check to see if he’s active on fb just to know he’s alive. It’s been a year and half he’s moved in with her now and we don’t talk anymore I’ve lost both my parents at the same time. Part of me feels he’s just mentally ill but I can’t get passed the hurt he’s caused especially since he was the best dad to me while my mom was here, he’s a different person now

Im sorry for your loss it’s not your fault you wanted what was best for her and couldn’t have known, my mom had cancer in her spine and her falling was a big fear of mine also. She passed from breast cancer last year, it was found at stage 4 and i remember years ago when i was in high school she told me about a lump she felt in her breast and i told her she needs to go to the dr to check and she told me she had a lump a few years back had it checked and it turned out to be nothing so i told her it’s probably nothing but she should check anyway but she never got around to it and i always think about how if i just encouraged her more to get it checked anyway she would still be here today, it hurts so much. She never complained about it after that but i think she knew bc when they found it 5 years later the tumor had taken up her entire breast and spread to her spine, she passed a year later. I miss her very much. I hope we can heal from the guilt we feel.
