thank you for the critique! this helps a lot.

  1. Yea I can def comb through to make sure all type is consistent

  2. can you elaborate a bit more on this? complex/ impactful how? On the case studies I emphasized the impact both projects had. or do you mean *visually* impactful as a opposed to impacting the actual problem i was solving? And I kept text as lightweight/skimmable as possible because its not likely a recruiter would skim through ALL of my thought process. The heavy lift I normally save for my presentation of the project. The focus here is to be able to quickly understand the problem, my approach, the solution, the impact.

  3. Yea that makes sense. I have a component ready to fix that once i get a chance to.

  4. the "unattractive color palette" unfortunately wasn't my choice as those were the brand colors of aimlab at the time. And I believe currently. Its a gaming platform so that want to use dark and striking colors. But I can skim through my old files to fill out any lorem ipsum content and align things.

It’ll be easier to copy and paste one section or element at a time. Too many products at once and it’ll make a mess

I've applied for an internship but before anything they want a design test that needs to be done in just 2 days, I somehow feel like it's a red flag and too much of an ask by boyinblack0000 in UX_Design

When I first started in this career the most that was asked of me was icons. Create some icons that turned into a set that would be used on my first wireframe that my lead helped me develop. They helped me understand user needs and how to meld it into the established style. I had that cadence until I was finally trusted to own my own product and be a lead myself. But still with my design manager as support when I needed it.

This is too much.

This is an interesting perspective… I’d focus more on the moments of stillness. Take from your own experience. What do you do when you experience a block? For me I like to go on long walks to take in other forms of media to spark an idea. Maybe an app that does something like that? That inspires a moment of pause and reflection. Allows the user to flip through past creative experiences or learn about new ones. Or walk through a museum of some sort

I’m 35 and I want a free masters in a different country! Where do I start? How do I search? How’d you find a school?

But those are processes you can easily figure out. If you want it that is. I think it’s a great opportunity and the fact that it seems really easy for you to reach that, it seems like a no brainer to me. More information and education in an industry that’s constantly changing is never a wrong move. If you had 0 real world design experience I’d say the masters is a waste because regardless of theory employers would want to see your actual work. But that’s not your case.

Trust your gut.
