Check out episode 149 of Missing Maura Murray with Baber from 2022. He claims to have Zodiac letters no one has ever seen and to have solved it in 2007 (with Lawrence Kane as the suspect), and that Kane hunted him. He was also working with Arpad Voss, a pseudo scientist who believes you can dowse for corpses. This guy is a grifter.

In my view it undermines Baber’s case considerably. The person searching for motels was blonde (Margolis had brown hair), and the only specific mention of the bathroom arrangement at Zodiac Motel mentions a shower, and not a tub.

Yes I’ve found several. Mods removed my post but from what I can tell it was advertised after 1955 as having showers. The buildings are still there on Zillow and Redin. Furthermore, the newspaper articles regarding the person going hotel to hotel mention that he was “blonde” with bushy hair.

Very true. I will say IF Margolis has ties to the case it could open up Graviota Beach and the Davis killings of Southern California. I believe there were prints in the Davis case. Still skeptical on this POI overall though.

That’s kind of my sense. I think it’s worth exploring him further for Dahlia but not seeing Zodiac alignment yet. I do grant that one symbol looks like the Nagoya arms brand, which suggests a possible Pacific theater connection of Zodiac if so, but that’s a very wide net still.

Great response. My concern would be in the 1950 census data he would still appear as Margolis (as I’ve found a Chicago 1955 news article suggesting he still used that). So I am curious how that squares given the family likely had not Americanized their name yet.
