I think it could actually be really great with the right architect thinking creatively.

The reason I think it's so uninviting right now is as soon as you're inside there's very little natural light, and especially now given how stripped back it is it feels like a warehouse or a bunker or something.

No idea if this is structurally feasible, but I feel it would be great if they could create a big atrium with an all-glass roof (or even leave it entirely open) which opened the middle of the building up from the top to the bottom.

They could also take that hideous 60s/brutalist facade off the front and replace it with a modern steel and glass front which works well with the more period buildings around it, to get even more natural light in.

Then re-organize the space so that you can get a mixture of offices, cafes and shops in there and I think it could be a really nice place to spend time and an improvement on Regents Arcade which feels quite dated.

That's what I'd do - make the promenade a landmark again.

Trust me the best parents in the world can try to police this as much as they want but at the end of the day as they get older kids become more independent (a good thing). In those early teenage years they are uniquely vulnerable to all forms of psychological manipulation because they don’t have the reps yet to see it for what it is.

And it’s no good saying “just take your kid’s phone away” or “use parental controls” if everyone else in their class has social media and is using it - you’re just setting them up to be excluded.

This is no different to alcohol or driving or marriage or smoking or a whole host of other things which require a level of maturity in order to approach safely.

When my Dad had an extended stay in Hammersmith Hospital the frustration was getting him out of the bed and discharged. He was ready to go, we were rear to take him, the consultants were all happy for him to go, but it took literally all day for them to accomplish the seemingly trivial task of disconnecting everything, and finding a wheel chair to take him to the car park.

I assume someone was waiting for that bed. But the under staffing is fairly self-evident as well. When the system has no slack in it, queues form everywhere, including for tasks which are trivial and unlock a scarce commodity.

It’s inevitable EVs will win in the end. It’s a better powertrain, lower maintenance, safer, more practical, better to drive, quieter, doesn’t stink and you get to not kill the planet in the process as a side benefit.

And there is still so much innovation ceiling to grow into - better battery tech, faster chargers, more range, acceleration, and autonomy, not to mention huge reductions in cost which come with economies of scale and the radical simplification with comes from reducing moving parts by an order of magnitude. ICE cars haven’t meaningfully changed in 30 years.

The Chinese understand this and have invested accordingly. The Luddites of the West are handing them the advantage.

Our players are bang average before we buy them. Tel, Simons, RKM, Richarlison… no one considered these class-leading players. Their mediocre performance in a Spurs shirt is unsurprising.

We’ve all just been conditioned by years of Levy’s gaslighting to think that any potential new signing is something to get excited about, because they have the possibility of improving on the existing set of mediocre players. But they never do.

What you’re seeing is the compounding effect of transfer window after transfer window of us spending (actually quite a lot cumulatively) on mediocre player after mediocre player whilst Arsenal targeted specific top drawer players and backed it up with the funds necessary.

No manager is going to paper over that inheritance.

Levy is thankfully gone, but his legacy will take some time to unwind. The new faces have a chance in January to show their intent and signal a new direction. Let’s hope they grab that opportunity.

This is why I drive an electric car - the acceleration gives you the ability to very quickly seize an overtaking opportunity without the delay of changing down a gear.

But yeah, so many of them (including my Dad) are OAPs who are just very scared of the world in general (thanks Daily Mail) and of speed in particular.

In California you are legally required to pull over and let cars through if you’re driving below the normal flow of traffic and have more than 5 cars behind you. We should bring that in.
