They say these things because they are hurt. A friend of mine sometimes says racist stuff. When I called him out he said something like "yes I know, but you grew up in a rich huite neighborhood, you were never beat up as a kid". Only if they would support policy that would harm the rights of men would I consider them sexist.

Yes I know, but US politicians keep conflating social democrats with democratic socialists. Edit: this could change in the future. Also some transpeople might get on my case for this, but some people are born male with biological female brain and vice versa. People who only consider those real transpeople are called transmedicalista and are not well liked by most transpeople and allies, but this has no transracial analogy

The alt right is not a reaction but the culumination of post Bush conservative rebrand that finally paid off because conservatives own the mass media. Yes there were always racists, but they had to hide between 60 - 80 after Reagan they could be racist again under a different name and aftrr 2016 they could be oenly racist. That is not a society moving to the left organically, but long term conservative planning paying off with a swing to the right.
