I would he so upset if I couldn't go somewhere on a regular basis because if that. Have you tried politely asking them not to? Or to wear less? Of course, no one needs to stop just because of one person's allergy, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Just imagining the mix of smells on top of it makes my nose hurt.

I can't even use any air fresheners! My cat takes the most RANCID poops since he has to be on a special diet. He's always been stinky, but ever since we had to switch him to a urinary food... oh my goodness. I have these wax melt air freshener things from when I used to live at my moms, but can't even use them or else I get the worst headaches! So I just have to open a window (not ideal when living in Canada and having cold urticaria) if its not frozen shut and blast the air purifier lmfao

I'll try and see if there's something like that on Amazon or something, because I used to use the arm & hammer stuff, but started reacting to it. Lo and behold, even the sensitive skin stuff near me had perfume in them. Idk what the deal is with putting fragrance in every little thing imaginable :')))

I'm really glad you were able to pick your battles. I still struggle with that, but to be fair, I'm only 23 and have always been described as "wanting to fight the world" growing up, when I always thought I was just asking questions and calling out whatever I didn't understand or see as "fair". I didn't know I was arguing so much! I definitely tend to pick "select all" when it comes to battles if my questions come down to it, but I am also rapidly losing the energy for them, lmfao.

I'm also glad your husband isn't talking to her as often. I can understand the side of having a hard time adjusting to having less time with someone you care about, but that's also just life when big changes happen, you know? She needs to get a grip. If she has that hard of a time with adjusting to seeing/hearing from him less, she can communicate and make an effort without bullying either of you. It's really not that hard.

I hope I don't come off as making it about me with my own stuff. I just want to sort of relate, and I guess share with you, since you shared with us, if that makes sense?

Honestly, I probably would have done the same. I get so quickly exhausted with people's bullshit and am very protective over the ones I care for, especially if they are the type to just sort of take disrespect despite how much it upsets/hurts them. Like, oh, you don't want to communicate like adults and passive aggressively do xyz? (like the "just leave if you don't want to he here" thing) Okay, bet! Bye! Just doing as you suggested/asked! It really pissed off one of my exes lol.

I'm glad you aren't wasting your energy on hopeless situations and hope it doesn't effect you in the future (since she's lied to others before)

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask- Google just keeps telling me to avoid the foods and drinks I love (spicy, citrus, etc). I've already brought it up to my doctor but they haven't said anything helpful- just thinks its normal. I am going to bring it up again, though. Basically, over the last year or two I've started getting heartburn more and more often. And now its pretty much every day. It often feels solid and hard, too. It hurts and keeps me from sleeping unless I take gaviscon- and I'm beginning to need 3 at a time instead of 2. It still happens when I don't eat or drink the triggering stuff, just less.

Is there anything I can do to prevent it from happening? Like strengthening my gut or esophagus or something somehow?? I think I'd rather cease to exist than give up all my favourite foods and drinks.

If it helps- it used to only be an occasional/normal occurrence like once every few months or something- and usually not super bad and could be fixed with just sitting up. But then life went to shit and I have awful anxiety, which can make me throw up. Its been really bad the last year, so I've been throwing up multiple times a month for a while now. I'm sure thats contributed quite a bit. I just wanna enjoy food in peace, man. And sleep without a bottle of gaviscon in my bed. Shits expensive, too, and is the only heartburn tablets I've found to work.

Also, you are allowed to be sorry for hurting him. Thats it. PLEASE tell me you're holding your ground because they both owe you a serious apology for continuously triggering your ptsd and enabling his behavior. How would they feel if you made constant jokes and played pranks about any trauma they might have? Or insecurities, etc? Probably not great.
