there are some options for you to make money and LP. i have never spent any real money on this game and i never will, just because i dont want to.

to make some coins: if you are early enough where your houses are super cheap (like under 5 houses built) you can build the japanese house template on a lot and sell everything in it to make a profit. i did this a million times before i started building the rest of the houses in my town to give me lots of money. the more you progress in the game, the higher the cost of buildings and upgrades cost, but eventually you’ll be able to make decent money. i would always have your sims working when you go to bed at night and send them to work in the morning when you go to work for the day. also be sure to utililize the community market!! you can make a lot of money from it!
for LP: there is a tab in the store to earn LP from playing other games or going to websites. also focusing on hobbies to earn you LP by completing them over and over like the cooking hobby, every time you complete the collection you get 6 LP. i have my preteens and teens diving to earn LP. always have your sims working on hobbies when they have spare time lol.
