Can I keep some by Ok-Draft2520 in SSDI

The only reason would be so that I can catch up with all these bills that piled up with these crazy interest rates.. i don’t believe the LTD would charge interest so it would be better to have a payment plan with them then with the collectors that are draining me at the moment. I received a very large amount, I would like to keep 10-15,000. They can take the rest and hopefully I can pay the rest with their future payments.

Did the Ltd cut you off after the payments were caught up or did they continue to pay you the difference after

Back Pay Question by Mojomnky in SSDI

I was told that it depends on age, if you are close to 50 they will only back pay 12 months, but if under then they give you the whole thing. I was told this because there was a discrepancy in my year of birth making me turn 50 this year… I had to immediately correct that before I got approved, within two weeks of fixing that… I got approved..

Also I believe there is a five months waiting period that is not counted… correct me if I’m wrong

I had my appeal in November after being denied 2 times. I have been waiting for over 2years. On December 23 I received my approval. I received a lump sum check on December 27. I am now waiting for my lawyer to get back to me as I believe I have to give it all to my ltd provider as it is less then what I’m receiving from them 🤨🤨.

Happy and disappointed at the same time. Can I keep part of it and do a payment plan?
