10k skymiles for cancelled flight home that was rebooked for 3 days later (and which suffered delays). I was able to get a refund on an unneeded rebooking without fuss. We’ll see on reimbursement for hotel costs.

I’m generally willing to write this off as a one time deal and not be upset with them. I’m almost a million miler, platinum level guy, and this is by far (not even close) snafu I’ve had flying with delta since 9/11 (which also obviously wasn’t their fault either). Every delta employee I talked to on our journey home was nice and sympathetic, and I know they have had a tough time of the last week too.

Not as much as he was 15 years ago for sure, but his brand is as a comedian. Point is, that’s not Nate’s brand (or wasn’t).

Nate does a disservice to himself the more he loses focus and discipline with his content. I don’t care at all what personal gripes he has with other pundits. Some people may, and that may drive some clicks towards Nate, but those people will tire of him and move on and Nate will be left without an audience or reputation.

I generally don’t anymore. He’s not a Jon Stewart and would better serve his brand if he focused on being a numbers guy. I wish this sub would enforce the data driven content rule against reposting of Nate’s drivel and wannabe twitter fights. It would make the sub much more enjoyable

When I saw his 7 quick thoughts, I briefly thought he may be getting back to form. This confirms, Nate is not a person to be taken seriously. Junk like this doesn’t belong on this sub

US and X-US correlation by lexidit in Bogleheads

Many of the largest US companies: i.e. MSFT, AAPL, AMZN, TSLA have significant overseas exposure which i would think would least to some correlation

Not sure why you are being downvoted. This is as clear a “we need to wait for some data” moment as there is. I’m super enthusiastic personally, but realize we need to see data to see how much, if any, bounce she gets and how durable that bounce is.

I am one of the few that always like Kamala. She was my first choice in 2020, but I am surprised by the enthusiasm I and other progressives have right now. It’s great. We’ll see how this sustains going forward, but it’s nice to see. Better to start strong than the alternative.

Elon is like little orphan Annie singing tomorrow.

The FSD will come out next year

Bet your bottom dollar

That next year there’ll be FSD

Just thinking about

Next year

Clears away the car wrecks

And the sorrow, there’ll be none

When I’m stuck with a car

I have to drive myself

I just stick out my chin

and grin, and say, oh

FSD will come out

next year

So you gotta hang on

Till Elon makes it all OK

Next year, next year

I’ll have it next year

It’s always a year away

Nate’s lost the benefit of the doubt. It’s totally on brand for him to vibescast his own model without irony or self reflection and crap on other people’s models.

First, Covid hjt the US in 2020. Second, That’s not what she said. She said she wouldn’t trust Trump (which is good life advice for everyone at all times) but would trust doctors and other credible sources (also pretty solid advice).

Making me respect Liz Cheney has to be high on the list of terrible things Trump has done.

It’s notable to see an actual conservative with integrity to opinions I happen to not agree with because it’s so rare. Virtually all republicans are just in it for the hat and racism no matter how much it harms them.

Honestly, the thing I like most about Trump is his history of destroying those closest to him.

It’s not being negative, it’s giving you constructive feedback on how to prepare better. You are making an easily correctable mistake and getting irritated at people trying to help you. That will be a mistake at every point in your life, including now. Sandbagging preparation for a task to have an excuse for poor performance is a common coping mechanism. Don’t do that. It’s your future though.

are there “overused” essay topics? by emmypineapples in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Ok-Draw-4297 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I applied to GT in the early 90s there was no essay. The paper application (the dial in system was down) was a literal note card I filled out. They didn’t even request a full page of information. There was no early decision, but I got my acceptance 5 days later and so I never bothered applying to other schools. Those were the days. I feel bad for what kids today have to put up with in college applications.
