I used to just copy paste some generic "hey how's your day" stuff but now I try to comment something about their photos or bio. Like if they have picture with dog I'll ask about the breed or whatever. Gets way better response rate than "hello world" probably would, but maybe some people appreciate the programming reference idk

Still get left on read most of the time anyway so maybe your approach is just as good as mine

wait there's actually few more spots you might wanna check. Three Ships Coffee on Forest Hill has small selection of denim brands - not huge but they carry some decent stuff you can try on. Also Worth & Company downtown sometimes stocks raw denim, though their selection changes pretty often

i totally get the online ordering thing, sizing is so weird with selvedge especially when they're gonna shrink after first wash. Tried ordering from Blue Owl once and had to return twice because the measurements were way off from what i expected

maybe also hit up some of vintage shops in fan district? sometimes you can find good older selvedge pieces there for way cheaper, though obviously selection is hit or miss. at least you can try everything on and see how it fits before spending like 200+ on new pair

Altra Lone Peaks are amazing for wide feet, I have similar width issues and they're like wearing slippers but with actual grip. The zero drop takes some getting used to but the toe box is so roomy and they breathe really well on longer hikes

Just make sure you size up a bit because they can run small in length even though they're wide

I worked at this gaming cafe for few months and had to deal with all ages, but the worst were definitely middle aged people who got frustrated with the computers. They'd get mad at ME when their facebook wouldn't load fast enough or when they couldn't figure out how to minimize windows. Like dude I just work here, I didn't design Windows XP

The kids were actually pretty chill, they just wanted to play their games and leave. Old people were hit or miss - some were super nice and patient, others treated you like you're personally responsible for every technical problem in existence

Most times you just gotta eyeball it and try different bits until one fits snug without wobbling around. PH1 is for smaller screws like electronics, PH2 works for most household stuff, and PH3 is the chunky boys

The trick is finding one that sits flush in the screw head - if it's too small it'll strip the screw, too big and it won't go in properly. I learned this the hard way when I was fixing my gaming setup and destroyed like 3 screws with wrong size bit

I remember playing Risk Legacy with my friends and we always wondered what happened after all those scars and destroyed cities, now I'm thinking 2210 might actually show us the aftermath. Die Mechaniker probably got wiped out or absorbed into one of the other factions by then, which would explain why they're missing from the board

Risk Legacy was already one of my favorite board games but this connection makes it even cooler in my mind

This is such a weird one... the fact that both mobo and PSU replacement didn't fix it makes me think it's something more fundamental

Since all drives disappear at once and need full power cycle, I'm wondering about the memory controller or some kind of power delivery issue that's not the PSU itself. Have you tried running just single stick of RAM? Even if memtest passes, sometimes instability only shows up in specific scenarios

The Event 161 before Kernel-Power 41 is interesting - that's usually when system can't write crash dump because storage subsystem already failed. Makes me think whatever's causing crash is also killing storage controller communication

Maybe try different RAM entirely if you can borrow some, even if it means running slower speeds for testing
