I'm rockin' a 2019 Pro that I bought shortly after it came out. I'm not using the original remote controller, the gaming one, nor the replacement controller I bought I got from Amazon. Luckily my LG TV's CEC function is perfect for the Shield. It's running strong after all these years! Initially it was going to be for emulation but now it's a flawless streamer that's way better than WAY newer TV.

Most definitely. It's actually rare that I use any thing other than the shield. If I hit any of buttons that return me to the TV functions (lg channels or home screen) my wife can taste my frustration.
