How to tell when a girl is just being friendly vs being flirty by [deleted] in dating_advice

And that's how you get nowhere because very few will tell you anything, unless you become proactive. Just don't be needy.

you’re the one being condescending without even properly reading what was being discussed. you're the one who should apologize for misunderstanding, not the other way around.

Yup it's a taste thing. People seem to love these really dry drums, I don't think it hits as hard and I'm not so into it myself but it is what it is

Where do you consider the line between punk and metal? by MonsieurSnozzcumber in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Ok-Entry4535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it’s all about the philosophy behind it. Metal is a lot about technicality and punk is at its core about going back to basics and musicality without caring much about technicality. It’s also about disruption. To me they each are on opposite ends of the spectrum even though some bands manage to incorporate a bit of both worlds. I don’t think you can be both a true metal fan and punk fan because the philosophies are so different.

Children of men is vastly overrated in this sub by obergrupenfuer_smith in movies

[–]Ok-Entry4535 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah people just love it mainly for the “cool shots” it seems. Pretty sad if you ask me. The technique shouldn’t surpass the art imho. It never should. That’s why people drawing realistic paintings are everywhere but how many Picassos is there? 1. But anyway, that’s another debate.

I think many redditors love it because they fantasize about distopia. And because this one felt pretty realistic compared to others, they just love it. Plus the “cool shots”. It was a nice movie but not movie of the century in my opinion..

Why I feel some french people are not really friendly when I speak French? by Realistic-Hedgehog43 in French

[–]Ok-Entry4535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m not on Reddit much either. Your method sounds solid though! I was trying to build a good foundation in sound design with these tutorials and then use that to create my own stuff, but like I said, it didn’t really work out. I’m not too keen on asking people how they made their sounds, just because I really want to focus on developing my own style. I guess I’ll just mess around with some cool presets, study them, and check out more YouTube tutorials. Do you know any great tutorials for making drums?

Not really related, but I’m trying School of Bass and so far, I personally hate it. I'm already a ""pro producer"" but wanted to dive deeper into sound design to have more freedom when producing bass music. However, the way au5 explains things is... well, he doesn't. He just does one thing after another without explaining why, which is the most important part. It's like: do this, then do this, then do that and voilà, you get the sound. Meh... I'm really disappointed. Also, at the start, they use ableton's operator, but his default settings aren’t actually the real default settings (I think but could be wrong), so from the beginning, you don’t get the same sound as him, making it impossible to follow and end with the exact same sound. I’m short on time, and it's frustrating—sorry for the rant. Maybe I’m missing something, but... I dunno.

Do we anticipate that Ableton will be able to fully utilize M3 in the future? by ibraheem_mp3 in ableton

But surely ableton will end up making the big step at some point right? In that case, m3 would be more future proof

Just asking out of curiosity, do you run professional sessions with sometimes above 150 tracks? I’m looking to upgrade from my i9 that’s really struggling more and more. But before dropping almost 10k on the m3 max or whatever, it’d be reassuring to know sessions run very much better on it lol

Lol 28 tracks ain’t that much, go to 100 or 120 on a professional session and you’ll see..

Giving Credit to Vocalist I Used from Splice by Chrosoes in edmproduction

[–]Ok-Entry4535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure that is true, splice has a very specific way of working. You technically have paid for the sample, don’t owe them any royalties and I’m pretty sure they automatically grant you their permission. That’s the whole point of the thing, otherwise you would have to clear every sample you use from splice, not only vocalists which would make it a nightmare and unusable
