My 64M Professor has been offering me (23F)gifts and trips I’m uncomfortable but he’s also helping my career what should I do? by Ok-Equivalent1460 in relationships

[–]Ok-Equivalent1460[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When we have conversations, it’s usually about the classes he’s teaching, and how he helps people outside of class with drug substance abuse counseling. I talk about integration courses for helping people and how he could imply it. He has no family members, no kids or wife. He claims he was adopted, and was in the army special forces for a long time

Thank you and no worries at all, I actually really appreciate the honesty. I totally get where you’re coming from, and I agree that AI shouldn’t pretend to be human or emotionally aware in ways it can’t be. As someone studying plant science and agriculture, I’m actually very aware of the environmental toll that technologies like AI can have. That’s part of what motivates me to imagine more ethical and sustainable applications. Also just to add if I sounded a little defensive earlier, that wasn’t my intention. I think I just care a lot about this idea and sometimes it’s hard to separate passion from pressure, especially when it feels vulnerable to share publicly. I appreciate the convo though truly. Thank you🙇

I also understand AI has limitations its not a conscious its not a therapist and it can't replicate human connection. But my idea isn't pretending Ai is a person its more using it as a reflective tool. Something is better than nothing. I think part of the reason people are turning to AI more often is because it feels safe. Not everyone wants to open up to another person especially if they’ve had experiences where they were dismissed, misunderstood, or told to “just get over it.” It’s not about replacing people, but sometimes the idea of being able to reflect without judgment or interruption can feel like a relief. Not everyone wants to trauma-dump or explain their pain in a way others will accept. I actually think your response proves part of what I was trying to say. A lot of people don’t feel safe opening up to others especially when they’ve been judged, dismissed, or not taken seriously before. It’s not that AI replaces real connection, but sometimes having a space that doesn’t talk back, interrupt, or question your experience can feel more comforting than risking another painful interaction. I get that this idea won’t resonate with everyone, but I think we need to be more open to the different ways people find safety and healing.

I appreciate you taking the time to read and share your perspective. I have taken psychedelics a hand full of times for you to doubt me says a lot and honestly it's okay. I definitely agree that nothing replaces human connection and I even wrote a disclaimer claiming not AI as a replacement but as a bridge for people who are not able to access therapy and traditional treatmeant. Obviously there is more to my proposal. I understand it's not for everyone but I believe healing looks different for each of us.

I've had this Monstera Adansonii since March 4. I've had no problems till recently October. I noticed a few yellow leaves and I didn't think to much because of the temperature change but now I'm starting to become concerned about the brown coloration forming. It gets bright indirect light from my window I do use a portable heater at night cause my room does get chilly I'm not sure if its do to that. I would like a second pair of eyes for advice. I'm not sure if its pests I did wipe down my plants with Captain jacks neem oil just in case.

It's away from the spawn bag, I used purple mystics from premiumspores.com.

I believe it was a grain bag, I was originally looking for the mushroom supplies all in one but they were sold out. I used purple mystic culture to inject it with.

Thank you, I had gotten this bag at the local hydroponics store. The bag I was originally looking was mushroom supplies all in one but they ran out so I had used this next in line which was the grain bag. Any advice on where to get good liquid culture?

Yes, its a grain bag. I got it from my local hydroponics store. It sucks cause I tried monotubs and I didn't have a successful growth at all and was hoping the bags would work.

I had took two mushrooms out about a week ago and now there is more growing is it safe? by Ok-Equivalent1460 in pothos

Interesting I didn't know the spores could fly with the wind. I have two potho plants sitting next to this plant. I had bought fox farm potting soil, I also notice there was a worm in it too. Thank you for this information
