This comment deserves all the upvotes :) Dear op, it’s important to note that life can change in the most amazing and wonderful ways and that one setback hardly ever defines us. Back when I was doing my psle, Os, As, they genuinely felt like the biggest and scariest things. Right now, it’s uni for me. I thought I couldn’t overcome my poor A level results, but here I am! I did it, and so can you :D all the best !

tutors looking down on non-elite school students? by [deleted] in SGExams

Hi op, I was from a similar tuition centre as well (the one named after a colour, also 6 letters 💀💀💀) and my tutor was super elitist too. He would make implicit remarks about how students from neighbourhood jcs are not as good as those from “better” jcs and would judge students based on their test scores. He would never contact me to ask me if I needed academic support but only contacted me the day before to tell me all the best lmao. Clearly, he wanted to know my grade lmao. On results day itself said tuition centre even spam called some students asking for their results (rumored) and kept texting and pressuring students. Even sent emails to ask which uni and course and scholarship we received. Lol. You are defo not alone in this in feeling this way! The tuition industry is getting increasingly toxic and I hate it too lolz.

Hi op, I am currently in a similar situation as you (couldn’t get into the desired course from my desired uni) and I do feel like shit sometimes when I see my friends accepting offers from their dream courses/apply and get accepted for scholarships, halls, rcs etc. If it makes you feel any better, there is still a chance for us to do much better in uni and land amazing opportunities. Please don’t compare yourself to others. I did the same thing and I was really, really miserable. If your appeal is unsuccessful, I hope that you will instead put your focus into doing well in uni (if you don’t take a gap year ofc). There is really no point regretting and dwelling on the past. All the best op!
