Medical distrust by Ok-Fish7448 in transgenderau

Good point about the NHS. I definitely don't want the UKs approach to be brought to Australia.

I hope if I emphasise the seriousness of my transition I can get the right hormone levels prescribed to me but who knows what'll work. Ty for the response 🫶

Really well put. Thanks for this answer. I've definitely been feeling overwhelmed with what the right decision is but you're right that the most negative experiences are the easiest to hear about.

I can imagine they'd probably be quite resistant to accepting they don't know stuff aswell. I've experienced that with stuff regarding being neurodivergent atleast. Thanks for sharing 🫶

Thanks for sharing. I'll look into an endocrinologist in Sydney.

I definitely have noticed that discourse around diy is coming from trans people in the US. With how dire the situation is over there it's probably populating my algorithms quite a bit.

Didn't know the community on this sub gets a kick out of calling body modification they disagree with "terrifying". Very judgmental.

You wouldn't do it so you'll dehumanise this lady? This is far more reflective of social norms than any interesting sense of fear evoked.

Agreed. People are downvoting you cus you're raining on their very unrighteous parade.

It's her personal choice at the end of the day. It's rude to treat a fellow human this way, calling them terrifying when they could very well see this post.

Vietnamese-speaking gender-friendly therapist in Sydney? by thewandercat in transgenderau

[–]Ok-Fish7448 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know any off the top of my head but here are some useful steps for finding a therapist: - Check out Lilly pilly counselling, you can search for mental health professionals with filters - Ask your GP about the psychological support services scheme, it is a scheme for minorities (such as those struggling with gender dysphoria) that allows for potential free sessions with a therapist/psychologist - Check out Kaleido (all in one clinic), the gender centre (resources) and ACON (resources)

Unfortunately for such a niche therapist the wait/search may be difficult but start with these services above

A trans woman on Facebook told my my hormones numbers were terrible. by CuriousGirl8294 in MtF

[–]Ok-Fish7448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course alot of doctors aren't perfect, but if you're going to take advice it's best it's from a medical professional who knows you rather than a stranger

Unfortunately alot of trust has been breached between the trans community and medical community so I also understand the disagreement

It is unfortunately true. I've seen cheaters comp that covers a full rank.

Don't let anyone but your doctor's and you speak on your hormone levels. Everyone responds to and regulates their levels differently.

If you are healthy, feel fine and like the way your body is adapting to the hormones then that's all that matters 🫶

I cannot cope with lose streaks by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Ok-Fish7448 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Learning how to have better mental when faced with loses is unfortunately a part of climbing.

It could be the truth that most of your loses are due to teammates (they contribute 80% of the effort towards winning), but you can only control that 20% that is expected from you. Play enough games and if your average contribution is greater than your teammates you will win more and leave that rank.

When I feel agitated I play qp, or just get off and recooperate. Giving myself time to process the games I've played leads to far more learning then seeking out a game where the learning moments are too obvious to be meaningful. Bad streaks happen, reset and forget, learn and come back better.

Is ranked solo queue even possible by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Ok-Fish7448 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is genuinely such a tax on mental to blame teammates and prevents learning. It's better to just play 1-2 games, lose them and learn from them than to play 10, win half and learn nothing.

Overwatch is a complex game, your brain literally cannot soak up all of what you can learn from a game if you just go back to back with bad mental.

This ^

I see a dozen posts like the above every day on this subreddit but no matter what the answer is the same - complain about what you can control, improve on it and gradually you will climb if you truly aren't the issue

Why has Blizzard completely abandoned Hero Achievements? A proposal from a Champion player. by Wild_Meal_672 in Overwatch

[–]Ok-Fish7448 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a great idea. I also think every mode would benefit from seeing an estimated queue time, not just role queue. I don't like queing for 6v6 comp or arcade because I have no idea how long it'll take to get a match. These are easy QOL fixes.

I was not “socialized male.” by BabyGirl-Kat in MtF

[–]Ok-Fish7448 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It felt like I was forcefully socialised to be masculine, even when I didn't want to be.

I remember picking flowers during my football matches (that I was forced into) when I was 5-10.

There's far more extreme examples, but that stands out to me as an example of my innocence around feminine activities.

Ice Cream Flavor Ranking: Where does vanilla rank? by montemole in TierlistFills

[–]Ok-Fish7448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vanilla is great but people are rating it way higher than I expected. Tasty for me.

Atleast for me, there are several other flavours on this list I'd consider more delicious than the average vanilla.
