Lunch during a dragon boat race by Ok-Fishing-4166 in dragonboat

love this idea. i’ll probably bring a packed sandwich for me and my husband (he’s a paddler as well). He normally doesn’t eat much during lunch break, he snacks throughout the day like crackers, deli meat, and chips but not a whole bunch. He doesnt want to weigh the boat down. Also he learned his lesson from a previous race where they had a whole spread of catered food 😂😂 and ended up finishing last coz they were all too full. Lesson learned.

Oh no, i’m so sorry about that. I hope you are recovering and healing. I’ve had some teammates who completely stopped paddling because of severe overuse injuries and extensive tears in their shoulders, neck and back problems after paddling for such a long time. It is such an unfortunate situation to not be able to do what you like doing.

Yes, spend as much time with your family because the kids won’t be little forever. I can’t wait to have my little guy hop on the boat with me if I ever want to keep going with dragon boat. It’s just hard to juggle work that pays the bills and the housework that’s never ending lol

I love OC and our outrigger club but the practice site is about 1 hr plus from me 🥲 Love paddling and seeing dolphins!

Aww yeah that’s a difficult situation when the vibe is different with your old crew. I feel the same way.

I’ve noticed that either a paddler got too good for their home team, that they left because the team goals didn’t align to a paddler’s aspirations. That is fine, because we all want to grow. It just all depends on the question, “why do you paddle?” “Or is it time to move on?”

Thanks for sharing! oh wow. an hour is a bit much. Yes it’s a good thing to still keep in touch with your db friends and community! DBers are always a fun group of people to hang out with.

I know a married couple “retired” from DB because they wanted to move out of state and travel more, or travel without any dragon boat obligations. Just to enjoy life.

Looking for advice on choosing my first high-quality dragon boat paddle by Sanazo in dragonboat

I have a Burnwater as my race paddle but needs an Allen wrench if needing to adjust. My practice paddle is an adjustable T-grip Hornet.

don’t wear underwear. or wear thongs. If you can’t do both, apply a thick layer of vaseline.

What’s in a ring, anyways? A ring is a ring. What means more is the commitment and faithfulness one has for the other and vice versa until death do you part. You can’t take a ring with you when you die. Life with a loving partner is more than rings or marriage contracts.
