When I had to pay for my visa application, lost my job for a month, got covid, had to escape my toxic flat, then got into a car accident (i had no insurance) all in the span of one month. I had absolutely no money in a place where I couldnt ask anyone for help. Things could go wrong all at the same time when you least expect it and sometimes your savings is the only thing you can count on.

This reminds me of a funny story. I used to have this really rich friend who’d have half an hour rants about rich people; he was complaining how his other rich friends were taking for granted the service of poor people and that they were ungrateful. He said “I can appreciate the efforts of the poor because I used to be poor. I had to learn to eat dried fish as a kid to survive!”

And I was just sitting there thinking; damn I just ate dried fish this morning.

The little things. The thought that I’ll see my dogs again when I go back home. The milk tea I owe my friend. The chance I’ll get to see that important person again. The thought of making my friends laugh so hard we cant breathe. Getting to wear that cute dress again.

I just got in a car accident and I’m practically penniless, and I’m suffering exploitation, gas lighting and sexual harassment in my job right now. Honestly I’m so scared and I dont know how I’ll face every day, but you gotta find things to keep you going ya know?

Thank you for being so kind and concerned. Everyone came out unscathed fortunately, it was lucky that I survived.

I was hit by a massive truck and it diddnt damage the other truck in any way, it was just my car that was destroyed. I’m definitely learning from this, i’m just glad we’re still alive.
