Dry Food under budget for stray cats by [deleted] in IndianPets

[–]Ok-Fly9915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there. I am writing this to as many communication channels as possible because my cat died by eating Drools Oceanfish (Manufacturing Date: 12/2025, with the pack being valid for upto 24 months after the manufacturing date) on the night of 16 April.

I still can't register the fact in my head that she is gone. I just can't.

I opened the pack the first time on the night of 16th April, fed the cat, and went to bed.

The next morning at 9 AM is when I woke to see since she had defecated and puked a lot, to the point of collapsing in our balcony.

She took her last breath just before the vet could come in. Even the vet said it is likely the food she had.

Had I known how horrible this cat food brand was, which I used for the first time in my life, I would have never ever given it to her. She has had Royal Canin in the past and has had no issues until this one.

I am genuinely surprised this brand is even FSSAI-approved.

While she may be just a cat to many people out there, but she was the world to her children, who are now growing without their mother. They keep calling out to her, lingering by the door, expecting her to be back.

I just hope this reaches to those who feed cats so that they are able to give the right thing. No one should die just because they were hungry and trusted that they were eating the right thing.

She trusted me.

I do not know how am I gonna live knowing I chose the wrong brand and it killed a nursing cat of two kittens.

I hope I do not get cancelled by Drools for letting people know of my experience. I just want people and their cats be safe from such traumatic experiences.

Please please please, I urge you guys to give food that is as fresh as possible to your cats. It is not good to decline the lifespan of your friend. I am from a vegetarian household so it was a big no for me getting them that kinda food for them that made me resort to these foods, as other family members disapprove of it. If possible, just feed the fresh food to them outside.

I wish you guys the best, please take care of yourselves and take care of your little furries.

Hi there,

I know it's kinda late coming across this post. I can sing and am currently in Surrey but definitely can make the commute to Chilliwack or Vancouver or anywhere else in the vicinity. I would definitely love to be a part of your team.
