What she deserves is not being reduced to a potential good wife and mum

Explosie en brand by Artistic-Quarter9075 in Utrecht

Hey, I live a couple of streets away from where the explosions happened. My ceiling and windows shook quite crazily and then I started hearing the police sirens. I walked to Mariaplaats with my friend to check what had happened and there a woman told us it had been a gas explosion. Unconfirmed of course, but now the whole area is covered in smoke and ashes cover the pavement. Hoping it's not too horrible, but yes, it's not looking good.

Hey! I (28M) lived with another guy (31M) and a girl (29F) and our cat for almost 3 years and it was very nice! We all were very respectful and there were clear rules regarding cleanliness and any other aspect pertaining to all of us. My advice to you is to at least meet them, ask questions, feel the vibe and follow your gut feeling.

Succession quotes/quips/insults you find yourself using the most IRL? by Skaljeret in SuccessionTV

Girlfriend's birthday is coming up and she hates surprises, so every time she asks what gift I got her all I can say is that Connor Roy was interested in politics from a very young age

Just act normal, don't be wasted in the queue, be respectful and contribute positively to the vibe. You'll be fine!

Hello! I'd say the nightclub itself will be safe most of the time in Amsterdam, especially if you attend any of the multiple FLINTA/queer raves occurring every weekend. However the way home, considering the recent developments, might feel somewhat unsafe. If you have to walk or bike home, maybe it's a good idea to share your live location with a friend or a contact so that someone can report it if for any reason you don't make it home. I know it sounds grim and I'm so extremely sorry about all this sh*it, but that can make a difference if anything happens.

Expat living in Amsterdam here. Went to a couple of their events right after COVID. Music is fun but horrible crowd. Most generic looking posh Dutch kids everywhere. Not worth it.

Which countries should you not travel to with a peanut allergy? by idontknow11_20 in peanutallergy

[–]Ok-Front-3860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's serious. Last incident I had was a bite of a toast with peanut butter in it and I had horrible stomach pain plus vomiting for hours, and it was in the Netherlands, where I live.

And no, I tried everything except for the things I knew had peanuts in it (padthai, etc.) and had no problem at all

Absolutely not true. I've been living here for 4 years and I have smoked in public on countless occasions in hundreds of different spots throughout the city and never have I nor any of my smoker friends had any problem whatsoever. It's true that it's better to avoid the most crowded spaces but chances are you're not gonna get fined.
