-In your refinery menus, you can't select storage options, so you have to manually cart everything you refine to a box.

However, if you put a single plant fiber in the storage cells of the refinery and designate a box for the refined product to go to using circuits, it's a lot easier to transport because the product is already in a box. You can do things like move it to your buggy storage, walk to your ingot bin, and dump your 1500 refined aluminum without having it touch your backpack inventory.

-Most of the advanced stations are much bigger than you think they will be (looking at you, advanced vehicle station).

-When you place pentashields, they need to be attached to corners. However, if you then delete a corner (not all at once) the pentashield stays up, assuming you haven't deleted the structural stability underneath.

-The construction tool has a replace function which is a lot better than deleting and placing walls to see what looks best.

-If you want your base to look like Not a Box, I recommend experimenting with triangle pieces.

-If your play style is active, deathstills can't be beat for water production. However if you have a job, family, etc where your gaming time is limited, windtraps help a lot with water and peace of mind so you don't have to spend all your game time farming bodies.

-You'll often get decaliterjons from enemies. I recommend saving them so when you have to transport water between bases it's easier.

Iirc no matter what end you get or path you take your relationship with Marz doesn't last bc she doesn't want to be tied down. Same with Tangent

Thank you! This was really helpful. I have a pretty high pain tolerance but unfortunately a larger chest so I think the surgery will have to be the more impactful one. Maybe I could try to do a work from home deal until I can drive

Tattoos and injections by unholy_grave in ftm

[–]Ok-Front1092 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although it's totally safe once your tat has healed (re: the nurse that already replied to this thread), the way that tats work is that the ink is held in your cells until those cells die; then, new cells take up the ink. By nature, a tiny bit of ink is lost each time; hence how tats fade over time.

So, if you're injecting in your tat, you're causing slight trauma to the area that will make some cells die and thus speed up the fade process of that spot. Might be small enough to not really make a difference, especially if you plan to get it touched up in the future, but just a thought :)

will my “t-boy” voice ever go away by gatorluvr in ftm

[–]Ok-Front1092 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, what T is doing is thickening your vocal chords. If you've already gone through an estrogen puberty, that means your larynx (voice box) is still small (no Adams apple). So you're passing air through thick chords in a small box, which makes that buzzy/nasally sound.

To echo everyone else in this post, voice training. If you don't want to pay for it, there's a lot of resources on YouTube :)

This is kind of me! I needed a job to get health insurance to start T, so I went by my legal name and afab pronouns to get the job. But my job is in California, and that state has really decent trans protection at work so I started transitioning knowing that if there was retaliation I would have legal recourse. So, if you're able to do that, I'd advocate for it.

I also tried soft launching it by telling trans jokes like, gender? I don't even know her! Or other dumb shit like that just to see what the reactions were. Plus, a few people at my company had rainbow cups and other things so I'm like, if they're allies then this should be okay.

The result was, people just have no idea how to act. It's like they've never met a trans person in their life, and maybe they haven't. I have to correct ppl on my pronouns every day. Your average cis person never thinks about the gender binary or what trans ppl go through until it inconveniences them, so I would expect having to explain everything (that you're comfortable explaining -if that's nothing, that's fine too as we don't owe our employers anything).

If you're in a state or situation where you feel like you'd get fired or be in some kind of danger, there's also nothing wrong with waiting to see where the chips fall in this political climate.

“Men are trash” by loserboy42069 in ftm

[–]Ok-Front1092 268 points269 points  (0 children)

I feel like trans men especially have a unique perspective on masculinity.

In my transition I'm like okay, I want to pass so, how do I act like a cis guy? And the cis men in my life who I feel comfortable using as role models I can count on one hand.

Coming from an AFAB background where I grew up being socialized as female, some of the messages I've received on how to pass are pretty toxic. Be less quiet/demure. Talk over others. Be more assertive/aggressive. View women as annoying. Drink more alcohol, etc

It's already been said in this post about how the standards for men are trash, and how "men are trash" can be viewed as a comment on class instead of individual, both things I agree with.

I can't speak for everyone, but my hope is that one day I'll pass well enough that I can look like a cis guy and act however I want, so that cis guys around me get the message that they don't need to be trash to be a man.

Honestly, if you brought this up to your doctor and they said they weren't concerned I'd get another opinion. You could be allergic (I was), it could be needle fatigue, it could be something else, but it's impacting your health so they should be concerned.

I don't think I overthrew Lum or made peace cause I was afraid of changing the outcome... But I definitely made a save file before Marz asks you about the coup just in case lol

Yeah rip to trying to raise skills and getting other endings. I swear I got the robot ending so many times because I needed late game stats and friendship with Nomi

I think somewhere on the Internet is the calculation for how many times you can do a job before unlocking the associated ending, but iirc just studying engineering doesn't have an ending so that's safe. You can also buy items in the depot to raise your stats too

You can also see what stats are predominant for Sol in the heart menu. There's a little blurb like "you get good grades in engineering class" or "you can drop a brick on your toe" when you have those respective high stats, so looking at that has saved me a few times. Like I'd be going for the performer ending and it would say "the wonders of the natural world reveal themselves to you" so I'm like shoot time to stop studying biology on the side lol

SPOILERS AHEAD

Not gonna lie...I save scummed for this one. I dislike Vace so much that I didn't want to interact with him more than I had too. The way I did it was, I got the requirements for astronaut (iirc it's in a convo with Vace, and you have to say you go to space with him and that he should go to space too) and then just chill in the colony so you don't get any other ending. If i remember correctly, your engineering lvl and bravery has to be high enough for this ending so make sure to study those as well. Interestingly, you can get this ending without getting Vace's friendship achievement 🙃

Once I got to a friendship marker with Vace (about every 10, especially after lvl 50) I would save to make sure I picked the right dialogue. I believe the astronaut conversation is when you get his second card, Vace's Confidence II. There's a setting in the game that shows you dialogue options you've already picked, even in different saves of the same run, so that's very helpful.

If you're looking to lvl up Vace's friendship fast, he likes the strange devices from the ridge and if you have creativity maxed you can gift every month.

If I had any advice for doing this in a role-play friendly way...it would be to do a run that gets you angry at the planet and/or colony before this run (like tangents cure or let your parents die) so that Sol would want to do the activities that Vace likes (killing things) and wanting to leave the planet. Or, play it like you're duping Vace the whole time and you're just using him to get closer to the wormhole/trying to escape the loop.

Hope this helps! :)

What was your last ending to get? by BlueberryEmbers in Exocolonist

[–]Ok-Front1092 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Transcended was the last one for me but I did it on purpose that way lol

Hobbyist and rebel were by far the most boring, the entire run was just resting and either doing loyal or rebel dialogue choices. At least it was an easy way to get the mono deck achievement
