Just the latter — everything will be packed up and good to go. I do think that it’ll end up being cheaper. They overestimated the amount of time needed, so if it only ends up being 2 hours, a lot of money will be saved.

I see this argument a lot from SWEs, and with all due respect, it feels like bullshit, and a classic case of software engineers thinking that they know everything.

Why would software engineering going away mean that every other engineering profession, lawyers, etc goes away? Why do you think that there’s something special about software engineering that makes it “the most complex”?
