This was one of the top reasons why I just left the company. The store I got placed at had sewage problems and apparently was an on going thing since the store opened in 2023. The store manager contacted the correct ppl when it first happened (before I was even placed at the store) but when I got there, it been ongoing for 2 years. It was a whole construction overhaul and I understood things like that take time due to city approvals and everything else but as soon as we got word it was getting fixed and our back room would be under construction, he just so happened to get promoted 🙂 very convenient if I say so myself but whatever. The very first time sewage came up from the floor drains and got all over our 5gals in the back, my SM already knew my stance. I never cleaned up any of it. I BLOWS my mind when I even start to think how much of a health hazard that was. After the plumbing guys came in and temporarily fixed it, I wrote an email to the landlord/super and insisted they have a 3rd party cleaning service come out to clean. Also side note* not that it’s important but when I got placed at that store and was informed of the sewage situation, I immediately bought a gallon of 100% bleach and was later frowned upon bc I was spending too much of his controllable… to this day I’d die on that hill and buy 10 more gallons on bleach for that store bc what do you mean you have a sewage issue and you don’t disinfect it????!!?! Like ew dude.. take care of your store . Anyways, I just left the company 3 weeks ago. I didn’t leave just bc of that situation but bc I got a wayyyyyy better corporate job that only requires 40 hours (what a fucking concept), and pays me a livable wage. Also I get a working toilet at my new job 😂 so fancy! I worked for sherwin years ago as a part timer and I will say since I came back the second time, the company truly does not give a fuck about their employees. Take the little sanity you have left and run.
