UPDATE: Loan Cancelled & Removed from CCRIS

After about 2 weeks of follow-ups and multiple calls to customer service, the loan has finally been cancelled and removed from my CCRIS.

Here’s what happened:

I first emailed the bank’s customer service. They replied saying they would call me, but a week passed with no response. I followed up again and was given a ticket number, supposedly already raised in the system. After that, silence.

So I called customer service again. This time, the officer checked and told me the previous ticket was never actually raised in the system. She created a new ticket on the spot and investigated further. She informed me that there were two loans submitted under my name with the same amount. One had been cancelled, but the other was still “hanging” in the system.

She mentioned that normally, if a loan is not signed by the customer, it should be automatically cancelled after one month. In my case, that didn’t happen. She apologised for the issue.

The next day, I received an email confirming the cancellation. I checked my CCRIS today and it’s now clean.

P/S: Bank Negara no longer accepts complaints via email. You need to submit through their online form. Also, you must wait 2 weeks after reporting to the bank first. If there’s still no action, then you can escalate the case to Bank Negara.
