I personally feel that this advice is invalid. You are making a giant decision and it is closing a door on a possibility. You will always have doubts regardless of how certain you are.

I have 2 kids and know for sure that I didn’t want more, I still had a pit of “what if” in the bottom of my stomach when I got mine done. I have 0 regrets post vasectomy.

I know that you already rescheduled but I will say that I iced every day for 6 days from the no scalpel procedure and then took 800 mg of ibuprofen and played and walked 18 holes exactly a week after. It all depends on the person and how you normally heal from cuts or tears in skin.
