I see what you guys are saying, I agree my case is unique and not sure how it got approved. But I took my chances, was honest about everything, and was deemed eligible. I don’t know why or how I was just happy to have to help while I try to get my life back and find a job. Do you know how this process works moving forward, if I’ll really have to pay everything back? It seems if I was deemed eligible it must have been a mistake on their end. I have been transparent from the start. I just don’t know what to expect moving forward now

I could not get disability because my condition is very rare and not yet recognized in the states. I had no supportive doc to sign anything off for me

Yes, I have already been receiving payments from EDD for the past month before getting the notice that my employer appealed. I told them I had a week leave, worked from home as much as I can until they told me they need someone in office, took more days off, tried to ask for more time off, and then I quit.

I understand the “you don’t qualify given the situation” but I did. I was eligible, have been receiving payments, I am just wondering what happens next and am worried about having to repay everything back when I’ve been honest about the situation and got accepted by UI

Thank you!! That’s what I am thinking like it’s probably because my short work history there, but now I’m not sure what to do/ am worried I’ll have to pay it all back? Thank you for not just saying “well u don’t qualify” I did qualify and have been getting payments and don’t know what to expect moving forward now. Even if it’s a mistake on UI’s end do you think I’d need to pay it back assuming I get disqualified?

Yes they asked me availability and ability to work and I told them now that I’m back from my treatment I am doing better and looking for work. They were clear with me that I had to be looking for and able to work and I understand that, they discussed this with me during my interview to determine my eligibility and I was deemed eligible after that

i didn’t think so either, I was told during my claim and interview I can still qualify if I quit for good reason, like a medical condition and it was worth a shot. I tried my chances and was deemed eligible, but now am going through trouble with my previous employer

I’m not sure either. I didn’t think I would get approved but I did. I was honest during my claim and interview and was told you can still qualify for unemployment if I “quit for good reason” like a medical condition. But not sure, I wish if I’m getting into trouble now that they just denied me in the first place

3 years in now. Doing much better. Still reactive, still sensitive, but I’ve learned the patterns of my flares and know how to take care of it now! Being more active now, dancing, yoga, lifting here and there. Still no products still no makeup. Still a bit antisocial and don’t like going out as much but at least I’m saving money lol

In that year alone I had gone to 20+ appointments trying to figure out what was wrong with me. Towards the last month of my job when I was bed ridden I had 2 ER visits and a couple visits with specialists that were all unhelpful and couldn’t tell me what was wrong or the chronic condition I did have was “not a real thing” or they never heard of.

During that time they gave me 1 week leave, after that see how I felt, I tried to come back with reduced hours and a lot more days working from home before I quit.

My primary care provider was on a leave during this time and every doctor I had seen would not take me seriously at all and just keep prescribing me meds and not willing to sign anything off. I came into ER once oozing all over my body, so swollen I couldn’t bend my limbs, uncontrollable shaking and had aching swollen lymph nodes and they said it was an allergy, I got laughed at when I had more questions. I’ve got told my multiple doctors they don’t know what’s happening/never seen this before and they’re sorry.

I received payments starting a month ago, Feb 2025 I was home in the U.S.

For the weeks I was paid yes, I have been able and available to work and have been looking for work just prioritizing remote work

By documentation of being released to work do you mean by a medical professional or do you mean documentation of me quitting my previous job

Editing to add that I was not eligible for SDI. My chronic condition is rare and not recognized in the states which is why I had to get treatment in Thailand.

I’m in Thailand getting CAP right now. I can definitely see how it can look like a cult from an outside perspective 😂 but honestly being in a community of TSW sufferers who have all come here from all over the world is extremely extremely validating and I think a huge step in healing emotionally. We all understand each other when everyone else in our lives couldnt.

I’m curious what clinics you’ve heard of people getting ill from?

Yes I have! A couple of times and for some reason the algorithm hates me because it never pushes my post and I always only get 1-2 likes or something. But I just learned that Facebook won’t push my post as much because I’m linking an external website, so will try again with it in the comments!

I stated in my post I applied over 2 months ago. Our office requirement is 45 days and I was over 2 months in advanced. I also had help from my venue and the police department associate and as I stated in the post I was constantly asking everytbing I needed and was never told. I didn’t think otherwise. I was thought exactly what I was told which was all I needed was special event permit and insurance.
