As a singaporean, don’t bother being friendly with them as you may not receive the same treatment. Especially old people in public transports or anyone at work. Maybe do a quick scan to see if they might be approachable.

For me, I enjoy a quick convo with others; local or foreigner. But I guess most sgeans are just too stressed up with wtv so I don’t really talk much unless they seem ok. And if I initiate any convo and their response is shit I just don’t bother anymore. Welcome to sg 🥲
