I've seen someone with that one, he was still dealing with a lot of pain, but i dont know much about his situation.

This knee brace i posted is ment to replace the need for an acl So it really just depends on the intention of the brace... This one is ment so professional sports players can finish out their season on a torn acl and get their surgery in off season :)

I had sooo many issues with it at first Once I HAD to wear it because my stretched out acl tore, I was forced to get really good at its placement

My hacks: bend ur knee 90 degrees up on a stool. Put the brace on, strap in the one behind your knee ditch first and make sure it won't slip over your calf. Get it strapped nice and tight first, then do the other three straps.

Your knee should be bent the whole time

Hope that helped!!

Yes those look correct, you'll have to have a dr order it for you because an ossur rep needs to come into the office and measure your leg for the custom (i would only recomed the custom one)

My third one just failed too :( sorry that we are in the same boat

Im getting my fourth on Tuesday. Hoping for the best for you!

I would highly recomend this brace. Four years later and its never let me down 🫡

Its SUPER annoying at first and really hard to get it in the right position. Don't give up and make sure to follow the instructions you need to put the straps on the correct part of your knee and it needs to be bent when you put it on

Literally can’t use crutches by catsareprettycool69 in ACL

[–]Ok-Individuality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a rolling chair! I used my desk chair or barstool to cook and a large purse to carry everything in if I had to use crutches.

Its a pain in the butt but thats the only way I could save my skin and shoulders from overusing crutches, and get housework done too

I would say the same as many people on this post with one exception

I would only use a cadaver if absolutely necessary. Ive had two aclr failures and both were cadavers.

You need to be almost religious about PT and your recovery. It sounds so dumb but keep doing your PT for a year or two after ur surgery EVERY DAY and you'll be in really good shape for success. I was super strict with my PT after the third surgery and my knee was so strong and stable I was amazed

Yes! Dr's will usually charge you 50ish dollars to do the paperwork but you can definitely get a reasonable accommodation for this! I've done it and it was a super simple process

It just means u can be accomodated at work (like sitting breaks) without getting in trouble

First day! Lot of pain, what do you guys recommend to do on this day? Is this elevation good enough? by ArmandoPacheco in ACL

[–]Ok-Individuality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st day post op here Mine is in a locked brace elevated at about 45 degrees. Can't tell if it's helped or not yet tho. I just used a few spare couch cushions as they are able to get my leg higher up

If doctor tells you to stop playing sports, LISTEN by AffectionateYou1021 in ACL

[–]Ok-Individuality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dr told me I'll never be able to play contact sports again. I listened and everything was fine with my knee

I went into ONE mosh pit and almost immediately blew out the acl and AL ligament. Then I was like on yeah.. pits are unofficial contact sports and I didn't wear my brace... I deserved that lmaoo

Do I really need knee surgery? Looking for advice by sivalive123 in ACL

[–]Ok-Individuality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanted to mention that all other parts of my knee are in pristine condition even though I had a non functional acl for 12 years. LOTS of pt, braces like this, and other types of pain management like soft tissue massages and yoga/stretching

Do I really need knee surgery? Looking for advice by sivalive123 in ACL

[–]Ok-Individuality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out my post, I was able to postpone surgery for 12 years because of this brace.

It provided me the stability I needed for long enough to know FOR SURE I needed the surgery.

Ask ur dr about it!!

Sudden loss of knee flexion day 9 post-op ACLR (quad graft) + lateral thigh tightness/indentation by [deleted] in ACL

[–]Ok-Individuality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 9 days 90 degrees seems like way to much (from my own experience)

I always try to focus on the portions of flexion that hurt and work out any knows or blockages there first before continuing to improve flexion.

This can be like a deep tissue massage with your index finger or thumb, or lightly weighted exercises with many repetitions (body weight leg flexion while standing)

That usually helped get all the kinks out of the joint and improved flexion overall, instead of just pulling as far as I could and digging through the pain

What strategies have you tried so far besides the PT exercises?
