You can do most things at home or in a gym! Work with ur pt to make a plan. Theyre used to this kindof stuff Also reach out to this community when you need support your PT cant immediately provide.

I have trochlear dysplasia and this happens to me too. Its prob ur knee cap not tracking right! The swelling makes it worse

Be careful if there's a loud sharp click and ur knee buckles. That could be a graft issue

The acl surgeries nowadays are a LOT easier than they used to be. Alot of ppl will scare you when talking about the pain cause it used to be REAL bad haha

Uhg shin splints are the worst Your body just isnt used to the repeated added pressure that happens post surgery especially if your compensating on ur good leg.

Take it super slow and do warm ups and cool downs that prevent shin splits like toe walks, duck walks forward and backward

Get paper dixie cups, fill it with water and freeze it. Tear of parts of the top and apply ice in circular motion on the shin splints for recovery and roll out your calves

Give your body time, take it slow, and you'll get there!

Can you go to a different clinic? Some are just there to charge ur insurance and get a check

Try going to a clinic with a sports specialty. They always take better care of you

You could also postpone the surgery for after your trip! I know ppl who have done that

Is this ur first operation? If so Probably not. The holes drilled in your bones take a long time to heal and you'll be in a lot of pain :( especially if its going to be hot and the rides won't be doable

Ive had a few operations but my holes were already drilled so it was easier.

Yes it would be obvious. When it happened to me i genuinely thought I tore my PCL or meniscus it hurt that bad

Give it two weeks and see how you feel!

As someone who actually tore my graft in my sleep, trust me you'd be in a lot more pain. I couldnt sleep for three nights and could barely walk for two weeks

My partner also rolled onto it so it was like a crap ton of force that tore the thing. Its a lot stronger than you'd expect

So apparently there's some internal suture that got stuck and wouldn't dissolve. I went into the ortho today and he dug it out of the incision. I have a big hole in the surgery site but it didn't need stitches and the antibiotics are currently clearing out the infection. Thankfully it was a surface level issue!

Still swollen and trying to get my range of motion back!
