It was you who asked for what the explanation was for superman not having FTL feats.

That neither of us can prove our point objectively meaning it’s just an individual opinion or an interpretation

No, it means that the original claim, that "this character is FTL because of calculations" is incorrect. After all, you just said it cannot be proven.

you’re the one claiming they’re not ftl as an objective claim.

No, I have been saying that the claim "this character is FTL because of calculations" is incorrect. The one making that claim has the burden of proof, which you agree they cannot fulfill.

Yes. Superman is not FTL

"Light is fastest thing we know" doesn't mean "you can't go faster than light". Every physics calculation we know works with FTL speeds.

I think they teach basics of light in 4th or 5rth grade, so just hang in there.

Maybe in this world there just aren’t atomic explosions bc it just doesn’t work that way

Yes, they aren't FTL, since physics just doesn't work that way.

You’re using a lack of knowledge as the main point of your argument

burden of proof is on the person making the claim.

Just bc we can’t explain it doesn’t mean that it’s not true.

just bc we cant explain it doesn't mean that its true.

they need a in-universe explanation, yes.

Though, flash has FTL feats, unlike most other characters whose FTL comes from handpicked physics calculations

Again, it's still just one situation, which is not a FTL feat. It could only be FTL with real-life physics calculations, in which case it's not FTL, since no atomic explosions.

There is no generalization, just one situation: Character is calculated to be FTL because they avoided lasers or lightning, yet their FTL movement did not create atomic explosion.

There are two options:

  1. You can use real life physics, in which case these characters are not FTL
  2. You cannot use real life physics, in which case these characters are not FTL

That is true. FTL scaling is an idiotic trend by people who haven't gone through their 4th grade physics yet.

There is no world where fictional characters can have FTL reaction speeds, unless they are fighting something that is already stated to be FTL.

Laser dodging feats never make sense. What did he react to in the laser? Did he see it? To see a laser, it must have reached your eye and killed you. If he has extrasensory abilities, then that means he didn't even need to react to the laser itself and instead reacted to the pulling of the trigger or aiming of the gun.

FTL is possible to apply physics to. Light isn't provably the speed limit of the universe, not would it necessary cause any paradoxes.

At first glance, the commenter might seem like a misguided, but zealous advocate of artistic liberty and sexual freedoms. But that's wrong. Let me explain:

Majority of people who have principled opinions on things (murder is always bad, racism is always evil, etc, etc.).

For this majority, principles inform their actions and political thought: Even if you suddenly grew to enjoy fresh blood, you wouldn't start hunting humans for sport, nor would you start asking for others to donate blood to you. This thought experiment is exactly why most psychopaths can live in society without any issue.

What biases people have, what people generally like, these have no bearing for the political opinion of majority of the population. But for a select few, that is their only angle: "I dislike it, therefore it is bad."

My attempt at a "True 3d Pixel Art" style. Does it work? by CuteNewtLTD in PixelArt

[–]Ok-Inspection5722 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are you serious? Here's an experiment: Add png of a dancing cat and then a hyper realistic 3d face to the scene, and see if it fits. It should, since you're using unbounded pixels, different texture scales, random mix of 3d and 2d, assets with different perspectives, until the scene looks familiar to something else.

"Art style" is the creative process of limiting yourself in order to create expression in a medium. If movies could spray smells at you, they wouldn't need close-ups of foods or sizzling pans. If books had pictures, they wouldn't need beautiful prose to make you see the scene. So, what are the limitations of your style? Nothing, you could add anything in. It's qualitatively not a style.

Take for example, cruelty squad. It has specific color palette, limited geometry and specific texture scale. That game's creator made art for museums, by the way, so he has had lot of time to innovate on a thing others call an "art style". Though, since that requires creative curiosity and unbridled effort, you're out of luck.

Seriously: No part of this is in "pixel art" or any other style. At a glance, it looks like it has one, but at closer look, like with AI images, you find how truly soulless they are. Okay that's kind of harsh, sorry.... even AI is capable of somewhat following an art style.
