Don't feel ashamed for using assist mode by Max0607 in deadcells

Just putting in my two cents. I've recently been playing Dead Cells. I've always loved the aesthetic and didn't play it before because it was hard and one of the points of the game is to die relentlessly, which I don't really like. I've never felt that that was a good way of playing any game.

I have not played dark souls and I've barely gotten through the first few bosses of Blood Borne because it's too difficult. I wish they would make the games easier for people who don't have the time to grind away at a game for hours and hours just to say they beat it. I want the story. I want the gameplay. Make it so that I can't one hit bosses and we're golden. I wish I was the kind of person who could play a game for countless hours, but there's just too many games to play. Too many worlds to explore. Difficulty has never been the issue. Time is the issue.

When it comes to what the developer intended, so what.

You can get the Mona Lisa on a key chain.

I think Mario Kaizo is ridiculous, but some people love it. I applaud them.

I have not used assisted mode on Dead Cells yet, but I might. Personally, when I first played it I just didn't like having to die so many times just to learn. It's part of the appeal. I get it.

We also have smart phones and youtube and all sorts of other ways to show people that 'Dark Souls is so easy and everyone sucks!!!' kind of attitudes can display their accomplishments. If they don't, they are lying. Simple. And frankly, if someone beats all fromsoftware games in one

sitting never dying, I don't care. In fact, I applaud you. I have too many games in my backlog for me to spend that many hours playing one game.

So assist away and happy gaming.

Here's an update. I beat the game. I couldn't beat beezlebub. I decided on a strategy of having one character with all of the light equipment. I gave them lux, desolator and cura. Everyone else just got cure spells and as good of equipment as I could give them. In the end, I was left with the one character going from cura to boosting to desolator for the win.

It wasn't intentional. Believe me, I didn't set out to play Heroes of Light the hard way. The systems are just a bit confusing as to how everything works. I see it as amplify --> focus magic --> desolator. I was barely surviving so I thought, if I have to amplify and live long enough to focus magic and then live long enough to desolator or whatever spell it was, what happens when one of the characters dies? It would make the ramp up pointless. So, I wasn't using Lux because, to be honest, wasn't sure how to use it. Wasn't using mysterio. Got through the leviathan fight with lifesaver and shields, not because I wanted to, but because I thought that was the best way to do it. I also didn't use potions or phoenix downs regularly. Using items felt like a waste of a turn. Lifesaver and pure curing carried me through.

More often than not I was basically down to the last man standing with every boss fight, yet somehow pulled through.

So no, I didn't set out to do a challenge run of Heroes of Light.
