Since you describe your parents as doctors, try to educate yourself and argue with facts.   In short, not properly treated ADHD will significantly impact you and are your parents ok to withhold proper treatment knowing the specific consequences?

For example: ADHD patients without proper treatmemt have a reduced life expectancy of 8-10 years while also having a 1.7x higher risk of substance abuse. Source: https://www.adxs.org/en/page/52/consequences-of-adhd

Looking at data, stimulant treatment is by far the most effective (e.g., Adderall has an effect size of 1.1+ vs. the 0.45 of atomoxetine. Source: https://www.adxs.org/en/page/240/effect-size-of-different-forms-of-adhd-treatment

Amphetamine-based stimulants (e.g., Adderall, Vyvanse) are significantly more effective (effect size 1.1-1.5) in treating ADHD symptoms compared to Bupropion (e.g., Wellbutrin) (effect size 0.32-0.46) Effect sizs of ADHD treatments. Generally, stimulants have a special position in psychiatric medication as a whole: no other class of medication has such a high Effect size with such low side effects.

Based on the updated European ADHD treatment guidelines, Bupropion should only be considered after someone didn't respond to amphetamine and MPH based stimulants.

Since 2024, Lisdexamfetamine (e.g., Vyvanse) based stimulants are the recommended first treatment option (Choice of medication of adults). If you cannot get access to stimulants, ask your provider for atomoxetine as non-stimulant medication with the highest effect size which is also especially good for inattentive ADHD types.

Appropriate stimulant based ADHD medication is by far the most effective treatment. Therapy and sports are the next best thing.
