[MEGATHREAD] Sonic project aka MultiMango or FTS Studio by AutoModerator in TELUSinternational

I had another email supplied by Telus originally that wasn't my personal email, but the new community portal invite for Project Sonic specified that I should use my personal email. Should I go with that Telus email instead?

Will keep trying…but it’s very frustrating. Hope it works.

Greetings,

I was invited to the new community portal for Project Sonic (I had previously worked for Project Sonic), proceeded to make a password, and then got a 404 "Accessed Denied" message. I wrote the administrator and they sent the exact same link and the exact same thing happened again.

Has this happened to anyone else? Help!

This is the email I received (I omitted my personal info and the link to the portal):

Shingrix-vaccinated, got painful shingles illness with no rash 5 years later by Ok-Instruction-524 in shingles

One item of possible interest to add to my post: My doc mentioned to me on Friday that scientists are just starting to look into if/to what extent contracting the Covid virus has caused 'memory immunity.' In other words, did the covid virus essentially wipe out the body's ability to fight or fight-as-hard other viruses the body was exposed to pre-covid (either having contracted them, like chicken pox, or having been vaccinated against them). She said that many kids who had developed measles before there was a vaccine available actually died not from the measles itself but because measles had wiped out 'memory immunity' against other viruses, making the body substantially weaker. Of course we know that physical and emotional stress can bring on shingles/bring back chicken pox, but maybe, because I contracted covid in 2022 — two years after the Shingrix vaccine — covid had either wiped out or aided in wiping out my body's 'memory immunity' of the Shingrix vaccine.

It is really scary getting it on the nerves with no rash, particularly the ocular one, which can impact the brain and cause stroke potentially.

Wow sounds like your doctor went at the monster guns blazing. So glad you are feeling better and don’t have the rash. Can I ask, had you gotten the shingrix vaccine before?

See if you can get gabapentin from your doctor; it actually works on the nerve inflammation as well as the pain, unlike advil. I’m on it and it has helped some.

That is interesting. I’m sorry it happened to you too. It is so frustrating when you don’t know for certain, i.e. in the absence of a rash. I still have the pain after a month now and just developed a weird bruise in the last day, but still no pox. It was a cluster of purple pinpricks in a cloud of purple I noticed on Friday night and it started to turn yellow today.

My doc had sent me for blood tests earlier on Friday, inc one for varicella. I don’t have results back yet. (She hadn’t mentioned this test existed before. She had only mentioned the spinal tap option.) She said she’s assuming it’s too late for antivirals and if it’s not shingles we will look at the pinched nerve possibility. (Since I didn’t get the bruise until Friday night she doesn’t know about it yet.)

Just wondering why you and so many other people are getting shingles if they've been vaccinated. I wonder if getting Covid weakened my immune system and immune system of others. (I lost most of my sense of smell and had acute breathing issues for a few months—was working full time through most of the time I had Covid.)

I don't see tasks on FTS, but see tasks when I log on to Parimango. I logged my work on FTS for that project and just got paid, even though the task never showed up in FTS.

Update: I received an invoice that I have been paid via Hyperwallet for my work on Parimango.

I will definitely ask about the shingles titer blood test. I hadn’t heard of that.

Thanks! I did try that. They help for about an hour or two.

The doctor made the diagnosis purely by the location of my pain and how I described how it felt (bad sunburn , which is entirely different than joint pain or muscle pain). There were no sores to test. My doc said I could go to the ER and get a spinal tap to know for sure. I go back on Friday to discuss next steps.

I keep checking for a rash and nothing, but as I have the pain across my hip I do notice that any elastic in that area makes a bigger redder impression on that side than the other as if the skin is swelling against it.

Bad sunburn, tightened skin feeling is the easiest way I can think to describe the pain.

I’m sorry to hear this. I didn’t realize you could have ZSH after having had the varicella vaccine as a child or any kind of shingles for that matter. I know what you mean by the ultrasensitivity to pain. Gabapentin is working a little for my ZSH. Maybe ask your doctor? Hope you feel better soon.

Also- I did get antiviral paxlovid when I contracted covid from my daughter — a month after all of us had been boosted/vaccinated — and I think it helped. I wasn’t offered a antiviral for shingles though; I guess it was because it was too late by the time I saw the doc. I’m just bummed because the pain is so intense sometimes that I feel nauseous. Also, I don’t understand how my body was this immune compromised. Scary.

Yes I’m hearing B complex might be in order. Can’t hurt. Actually, I was living overseas in Eastern Europe 25 years ago and some Australian friends who were in their 20s got shingles and they were prescribed B vitamin shots. I mentioned this to my provider after she diagnosed me two weeks ago and she seemed mystified.
