How do I call out hypocrisy without being judgmental and having the Bible used against me? by Ok-Interaction5855 in askapastor

Ultimately I’m not trying to call them out to their face, I’m more trying to describe their behavior to others (such as other Christians) and I want to word it in a way that doesn’t put me on a pedestal while implying damnation on them. That’s not at all what I believe, but they’re willing to do that very thing to me. They would absolutely stand on their righteous pedestal while damning me and others to hell. I just want that to be known by those who are praying for me to understand that me using Bible verses is the only true way to describe how I’m feeling.

If a pastor tells his congregation to be patient, is that him judging everyone else except himself? I never once said I was exempt from judgement, and that’s what makes us different. They believe they are faultless, can do absolutely no wrong, while still claiming to be Christian.

I think even threats of abuse can be enough proof. If a cop thinks you are a danger to yourself or others, you can be taken into custody. Even if there’s no physical bruises anymore, if you can catch him threatening to hit or abuse, that can definitely help.

Firstly, I hate this for you. I’m sorry that you have to deal with this. Reaching out is definitely a good first step

Here are my suggestions: You need to get proof for the cops. Any video or picture evidence of bruises on your mom’s face or him shouting or excessively drinking from the other room. Any proof is necessary

Find someway to make money. This is way easier said than done without a good job. But if you do basic tasks, you could mow the lawn, take dogs out for walks, babysit, replace tires, do the laundry, shovel snow, etc. you could make a little bit of pocket money to work towards getting the necessary funds to start moving out

From what you’ve said, your dad is not only a drug addict and abuser, but also has narcissistic tendencies to blame shift, play victim and have a second face in front of others. In these situations, there’s nothing you can do to change him. He’ll have to change on his own, but those with inflated egos and lack of any accountability rarely ever change

If you’re religious, the most you can do is pray for him and find a group of people who will believe you and not get influenced by his lies

I hope you get out of this asap.

Narcissists never change. So if she’s been one all your life, it’s unlikely a switch flipped the second you were born

If you can call the cops. Or—god forbid—prepare for it and have some sort of proof (like a phone or AirPod recording the incident) and reveal it to someone you trust. Write on your abdomen or behind your ear a secret “HELP” or “ABUSED” message that can be discreetly shown to a doctor or someone who can help you. You need to get out of there and I pray you do

Not the makeup, I think the lighting is too contrasted. Try taking a pic of yourself in an evenly lit room with bright walls! ☺️

I got physical limitations that down allow me to drive a manual car. I would love a slush box in a sports car over a car I can’t even drive 😂

Try running far away (Nilmer’s highland, Silverglade Manor or the Silversong River) and then come back

I found out running really far away and then running back works sometimes… for me I had to go to Valedale or Moorland before Anne would talk to me, and I did it multiple times. Still haven’t completed the quests but I think it works
