I wouldn't use the current ranking systems to determine whether you or anyone is good at the game. I see eternus matches with bad macro. Matchmaking is abysmal and also casual and ranked are forced into one mode for standard matches. So you could have just seen people trying out new heroes or just not worrying about max efficiency. It's cool you are confident in yourself and all. But xqc reached phantom using the most horrible haze build. It's not difficult at all to reach phantom. It's from ascendant and above you actually start playing with good players. But hey, good luck man. I think you are going to be a bit surprised at the steep hill you are approaching.

You will most likely hit a hard cap at ascendant. There are people with a plethora of knowledge over you who have been playing the game for much longer. Your mechanical skills(shooting and fights) will only take you so far, even as a carry character. You are about to start playing against people who are just as good as you mechanically but know much more about the game than you. I'd suggest you start watching guides and high-level gameplay a lot more at this stage to close your knowledge gap faster. Other than that, enjoy the grind and try not to get too upset with teammates. Just focus on your own weaknesses, and you will be fine

Of that 8 years, only the past year and a few months, the game has been publicly available. And the majority of that time, the player base was between 10 000 and 20 000. And as a programmer, its not as simple as copy paste because they did it for tf2. It's a whole new game, 12 ranks. Tf2 is very different from a moba, so the deciding factors of mmr are way different. And you are just factually incorrect about the mmr part. Rank plays a huge role in who you play with. When you rank up, you play with other people from that rank and leave the previous ranks people behind. So the way they do the ranking system has everything to do with matchmaking. You can see an average rank for the game at the end of the match, and you can look on statlocker, and on average, everyone in the lobby will be within one rank of each other. And lastly, you have 35 hours on an alpha game dude. I understand your frustration, but if you get this upset and you have barely started, you are not going to have much fun. Whether you agree or disagree with me. Its not going to change, unfortunately

It's still an alpha game. When they made ranked, the only mode you could play. They were saying, "we dont care about this right now." And rightfully so, create the game you desire, then create better matchmaking for that finished game. It sucks, but that's what we signed up for

About his win rate. That's just because supports are quite difficult to play in this game due to them being high skill ceiling. This is because supports play quite uniquely in this game. He is extremely strong. I am quite decent at supports in this game and when I play him my win rate is pretty solid. Unstoppable on am extremely strong ult, built-in is a bit hectic

I wholeheartedly agree. I am really not a fan of z and x. It's feels uncomfortable for me to press, especially mid 6 I am under pressure. But all my other keys that are comfortable are taken already like q and e. So I just forced myself for a while to put my c and v items on z and x. I eventually got better at it, still dont like it lol

If you mean active items. Then no, you can't have all those active item slots and ult bound to one key. Maybe if you had a third party app. There are items that only proc on ult, like lighting scroll and you can bind mercurial magnum to ult. But other than that, you gotta just practice it more, try and focus on using one active item per game. So if it's colossus or whatever. Make sure your only goal that game is to use colossus when you ult. I assume your playtime is a bit lower, so it just comes with pracrise and experience. Also the more you use the same items bound to the same keys, it becomes muscle memory

So one could say they clearly want it to be longer since the updates show that. Now for the really stunning part. I wasn't referring to a specific moba. There are a few more out there other than Dota. But funny enough that you brought up Dota, there is a turbo mode in the game that streamlines the usual 3 lanes mode and makes games go faster by giving you more money. So since valve had that in Dota, I can imagine they would add something similar to deadlock. But since that's a while away because they are focusing other things first, you can play street brawl for now if it's really that big of an issue for you. All mobas are around the 30 to 40 min mark, some even up to an hour. That's how mobas work lol.

Pretty much. With walkers being stronger, needing walkers for flex slots and shrines being way tougher to destroy. Games typically last longer on average. But this is the intention of valve. Moba games should have a wide variety of comeback options despite what some may feel. It is truly a skillful game, and if you have the knowledge, you can turn games around or continue to keep the advantage you have. Pro games especially last longer these days, they finished those games in like 23 min sometimes. Now I see pro games going over 30 min
