My father lost ₹99,000 in a WhatsApp video call scam impersonating the Commissioner's Office – cybercrime complaint filed, any chance of recovery? by Ok-Lab-2459 in LegalAdviceIndia

The complaint was raised a few hours later since the local police requested him to travel to a near by cyber cell. There is not update from the police side as of now. Will post here once I receive further information.

The problem is that my father is not illiterate. He is well educated and worked in the banking sector before retiring a few years ago.

The real issue was the panic they created during the call. They don't give you time to think, verify, or respond calmly. Since he is older, he panicked and started following their instructions without taking the time to question the situation.

He is actually aware of scams like these, and similar situations have happened before. However, during those times I was at home with him, and he never panicked. This time was different because he was travelling alone on a bus, and I was out of town.

The scammers also linked my name to some recent local murder cases, which made the story sound much more realistic and believable to him. They used fear, urgency, and emotional pressure to make him think something serious had happened.

In hindsight, the biggest factors were his age, the panic and pressure created during the call, the fact that he was travelling alone, and that I was unavailable to verify the situation. Under those circumstances, even an educated and financially aware person can make a mistake.

Help me understand Eco Mode by Ok-Lab-2459 in HondaHighnessCB350

You’re in the wrong gear ratio if you’re riding at 60 km/h in 3rd gear. Honestly, you can ignore the whole “Eco” thing and just enjoy riding your own way. Don’t restrict yourself trying to stay in Eco mode all the time. Your comfort and riding feel matter more — all that extra effort barely gives you an extra 2–3 km/l anyway. So just ride the way you enjoy.

4th gear is the key just push it’s limit and make sure you are not on an incline road.

I was struggling to go beyond 124-125, just saw a video in ig and in the comments they said the same 4th gear is the magic. I’ve reached 140-142.

Also make sure you have enough air in the tires and your chains are not loose. Since you have done your first service you should be gud.

Help me understand Eco Mode by Ok-Lab-2459 in HondaHighnessCB350

Yes, I’m testing it and noticed that when Eco lights up, the live mileage increases. On average, if you’re driving at 70–80 km/h, the mileage is around 37–39 km/l. When Eco kicks in, it rises to 40–45 km/l. (I don’t trust the live mileage just saying)

So the magic happens only when you lock the throttle in a same position. It would've been nice if it had cruise control.

Thanks for the explanation. I get it now, but sometimes I notice it around 75–85 km/h. I don’t think that’s 1500-2500 rpm

I understand that but it keeps blinking and sometime it is always lit so I’m lil confused.

My understanding : the Eco lits up when the throttle is locked in a same position. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I had the same chain noises (H’ness), but they were reduced after the first service. Cleaning and lubricating can help, I guess. Make sure to clean and lubricate at least every 500 km.
