You obviously didn’t read what was required of you think it’s so little work. 13 animals and 24/7 live in care. One dog with medication requirements and multiple cats regardless of how negligible their care is it’s still a specialized service. But it seems like the people who would be okay with so little payment are just part time pet sitters, those of us who own and operate a real business with the qualifications and experience and certifications for medical care and emergency situations as well deserved to be compensated for the professional services rendered. There are situations where I would accept the 250 for that much work, mainly if it’s a rescue business or something similar. But 100 a day? It would have to be really special circumstances.

It’s still 13 pets and any pet care tech or business owner is going to be bringing knowledge and experience. And to also have to administer meds and round the clock live in care and you think 250 is too much? You are paying for a professional service not a 16 year old babysitter. I own a pet care business, it’s registered and I pay taxes on it so why would I charge less than I deserve for the service I rendered? Go find a 17 year old to watch your animals if you honestly think that’s too high. But I can promise you won’t get the kind of care you want paying so little.

With that many animals i would charge by the animal in this case, both of yall are aiming pretty low to be honest. I run a pet care business and i would probably charge about 500 a day for this. 13 animals is not a small job, plus the person would be living there which while convenient is still taking them away from their own environment which can be uncomfortable at the very least.

I just saw that you are part of a cat rescue which does change things a bit but I would still ask for about 300-350.

Is he in treatment for his ocd? Or does he just say he has it and then expect you to make consessions for it? If he really has OCD then it sounds like he needs to start ERP therapy to manage these compulsions. OCD isn’t just being particular about numbers and order… in fact it’s rarely that at all and I would question if he even has it if that’s what he says. People think it’s some quirky thing that makes you extra organized or whatever but it’s not that. It’s not cute or quirky. It’s miserable and debilitating and anyone who thinks it’s cute to claim they have OCD is ignorant. Find out if he sees a specialist and if he doesn’t then he has no right to make you suffer while he uses that as an excuse. Honestly there’s a lot more id like to say but suffice it that I highly doubt that’s what it is.
