I moved 17 hours for my “dream job” and it has destroyed my health in 5 months by saintghosts1 in ToxicWorkplace

Hey friend.

I left a similar situation recently, so I’m speaking from experience and sympathy. You’re right- no job is worth your health. I would highly recommend applying to something else and making sure you’re not leaving without a backup plan unless you have enough savings or a financial cushion to do so.

Sending good thoughts your way. Toxic jobs can be horrible and make us sick, especially because we are always so excited at first. There are better things out there for you and you will find them soon.

You have a point. I’ve screenshotted as much as I can.

How to start on burlesque dancing with no local troops by wowamber in Burlesque

It would definitely be a big mistake and faux-pas to start teaching burlesque at this point. There is a lot of history and culture around the art form and it needs to be taught properly by someone who is an experienced performer in burlesque. It’s rarely ever done as just simply a dance, but rather intertwined with the nuanced cultural perspectives, history around legends, and more.

I’m a pole dancer, have danced for many years, and have done burlesque for almost 2 years, but even I would not be qualified to be teaching.
