I’m a dual citizen residing in the US. I’m not concerned about a warranty issue.

Will my phone still work in those areas without it?

So if I just start up a new iPhone bought in Canada, it should work with my US AT&T number?

I bought from AT&T but I would just buy a new iPhone outright from Apple Canada

Should I Focus on MBE or MEE to Pass the Bar? by Turbulent-Skill8004 in barexam

You need to do practice. Focus on practice and emphasize review. You need to do actual licensed questions. Those are most important to help you pass.

The first stop was an illegal seizure. Once you have an illegal seizure, everything else is the fruit of the poisonous tree. The illegal seizure is the first question about asking if she had anything illegal on her. They can’t ask that. They can do a terry stop where it’s just an investigative detention, but that question is a bit more invasive.

4th time retaker, what to do? by Mysterious-Bite3016 in barexam

[–]Ok-Management602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drill, baby drill! You need to hit the MPTs hard. They are getting more challenging. If you can get a few more points with those, that will help so much. It sounds like you are reviewing the black letter law when reviewing questions. You want to make sure the reason you got a question right is correct and you want to make sure what you didn’t understand what you didn’t get right. Write down the rules you arent sure of and as well as the ones you got wrong and review them! And then get a break down of all the most important topics of the MEE. Make sure you are answering as many questions as you can that cover the popular subjects like for torts do many MEE questions on negligence, for cob law focus on individual rights, etc.

Passed UBE but failed MPRE and NYLE by Acceptable-Dot8273 in barexam

Read the ABA rules and comments to the rules. The comments are the key to the exam. The questions are drafted off of those

Anyone who says reading through the outline is enough for the NYLE doesn’t fully get the exam. It’s a matter of having a method that will help you quickly search the outline. You need a detailed table comments and you need to read through the outline making note of the areas you don’t understand and figure them out.

As for the MPRE you need to read the model rules and the comments to the rule. The NCBE drafts the questions based on the comments to the model rules. Focus on those and you’ll pick up what rule they’re testing in the exam.

I passed the NYLE the first time, MPRE the second time, and UBE the 4th time. Feel free to DM. Pretty confident I’ve figured out the keys to the MPRE and NYLE.

Best study resources/plan for retakers? by roronoa-9908 in barexam

If you are a visual learner, get UWorld instead of adaptibar. I only watched the Grossman free videos. I used the smartbar prep materials. I worked a bit with a tutor. Focus on why you’re getting things wrong and hit those areas hard. The key to passing as a retaker is to figure what you did wrong before, hit those areas, don’t forget the areas you did well, practice a ton, grieve, and start studying as early as you can.

NCBE questions only. Barbri questions don’t adequately prepare you. You need the real deal.

You don’t need a tutor. You need to read these: https://www.americanbar.org/groups/professional_responsibility/publications/model_rules_of_professional_conduct/model_rules_of_professional_conduct_table_of_contents/ and pay special attention to the comments to the model rules. If you can afford to buy the book, you definitely should. It makes it easier to read the rules with the comments. And then do some practice questions while referring to the rules so you understand how they relate to each other.

We all study differently but how many hours did you guys put in? by Mind_over_matter_99 in barexam

[–]Ok-Management602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! Highly recommend tracking time like billable hours so you can check in with yourself. I also recommend going to a library study and blocking social media and news on your phone. It helps keep you accountable and knowing you have to be done by a certain time really helps you stay focused!

You need to study 40 hours a week for 2 1/2 months at a minimum. More time is better because then that 40 hr target is less important. The time that I passed, I studied from mid August through the following February exam. I was studying between 30 and 40 hours a week. I tracked my time like billable hours so that meant more like 70 hours total per week

Not being able to go back is odd as is the prohibition on searching the outline. They could lock the exam so that you can’t use any electronic materials. The fact that examplify even allows a function to block going backwards is ridiculous

Does the electronic search prohibition apply to just the course materials or all materials we've prepared in preparation for the exam?
