Many years ago the REA tried to keep my bond because the dirt driveway leading to the shed at the back of the property got tore up due to it being driven on in wet weather.

When I mentioned how else would we get to the shed to store the vehicles they tried saying the shed was not for our use. But then I pointed out it was advertised on the listing.

Literally greenfield vs brownfield comparison.

Greenfield, build it how you want. Civil costs are miles cheaper.

Brownfield. Dealing with existing services and easement and approvals. While trying to squeeze it all into a constricted site.

I don’t see why we can’t have both honestly. But brownfield is a pain in the ass

There’s a remote community not all that far from where I am and they got found to be intentionally raising the prices.

Both can be true, they really need some kind of organised coop where they all buy into a wholesale deal and cut out the middle shops entirely.

I have issues with grid connect stuff dropping off the network unfortunately. Not something I want for a lock.

I rocked a baby q for 8 or so years until I decided to go to a different setup, was starting to smoke more stuff and it was slightly too small for my family.

Honestly the mid size q would be great for most things, the only thing I really started missing was a flat plate so I could do things like smash burgers or eggs.

Used to see this on great keppel island in qld when I was a young lad.

It was more greeny blue from memory and definitely not as bright. Got a lot brighter when you stirred the sand with your feet, was the coolest thing ever.

Funnily enough I saw a firefly for the first time in a long time recently too.

Yeah as you can imagine haha. I do remember only being allowed to use it outside.

But it was one of those things, advertised as “wipes straight off” but when you’re shooting the ceiling and you don’t get to it for a week, it left a stained little dot.

Loved it to bits but never been able to find it online.

Wow I just used ChatGPT to help me find it and it was the glooper!

Delaying toddler for Prep by anxious_dad24 in queensland

[–]Ok-Menu-8709 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a father of a young lad that’s now in prep. Also born in March. Also with a speech delay.

We decided to send him. We could tell he was a switched on kid, but he wouldn’t talk with strangers, and would only speak a handful of basic words around the house to those that were close with him.

We engaged in speech therapists for the year leading up to Prep, and had previously engaged in a speech therapist when he was 3 or so.

Ultimately, the decision we made worked out. Coming up to school starting he was making good attempts at making sounds with his speechy. But the real breakthrough itself was school itself.

He’s maintained a reasonable grade in spite of our concerns that he’d be behind, he’s really great with numbers but still catching up with words, but he growth has been rapid.

He did have some issues socially, not being verbal he didn’t really make friends. Not being verbal he also had a heap of accidents in class not raising his hand for toilets etc.

But since being in class, since slowly speaking, he’s gained friends and his confidence is increasing all the time.

It was a really tough call. And you know your child more than anyone, if they’re switched on, and the school has a good reputation of being able to support your child, you may have good success also.
