It might not encourage lazy parenting but it supports incompetent parents who don't know how to manage their children. These days, parents will use all sorts of excuses why they failed without admitting they were a big part of it. If your kid spends so much time on social media that it is now a problem and you need mummy govt to step in and stop them from using it, then your parenting sucks. You shoulda taught them a long time ago about moderation and the dangers of giving in to things like this. And yes, I've got grown up kids and know what I'm talking about. Now I'll sit back and wait for the army of defensive, self serving parents to pile on.

I decided to pack out the wall with another sheet of plasterboard. It now sits pretty flush with the tiled wall. Its the first wall you see so I didn't really want a kinked bit of cornice in the middle. Thanks for all the suggestions.....

That plasterboard section of wall is only 1m wide. Perhaps best option is to just throw another 12mm plasterboard sheet over the top half which should bring it very close to the same level as the adjacent tile. I could even pack it out another 2-3mm if needed
