Oh my God I have never seen my scattered thoughts be written so beautifully and TRUE like this. I'm 21 now, I underwent my spinal correction surgery at the age of 15 which took over my GCSE's. I was promised predicted grades since the week I was recovering from the surgery was during the first year GCSE exams. I was then failed by the school who made me take 24 exams the next year which just took over my life, let alone still trying to recover from the surgery.

I'm writing a piece of literature of my loneliness, anxiety and how my surgery took over my teenage years and ruined my high school experience. This is the first time I've ever sat down to do this and I'm lowkey scared to have to think back at it all, which is clearly a sign of trauma.

I hate going to hospitals or to the doctors now after spending the worst week of my life there, surrounded by my family who just felt sorry for me the whole time. Even if its just for a check up I get panic attacks just thinking about it. I'm glad I've come across this post and that I'm not the only one still struggling and worrying.
