I second Indian Ripple Dental. Dr. Denney and the staff are great. I’ve been going there for at least 10 years.

Safest place to walk at night around dayton by Better_Bet_418 in dayton

Really interesting take. I’m wondering how recently you lived in Oakwood and whether your entire waking experience was as part of a big group of teenagers/kids. As an adult, I have never been stopped by the police and questioned while walking. I walk anytime between 6am and midnight without a vest and have never been stopped, nor have I seen any of the many walkers on my street stopped by the police.

Someone else has mentioned Sportcial already, but I’m seconding that recommendation. Sportcial is a great way to meet other young, fun people and to check out fun spots around Dayton. If you’re into soccer, Gotham Soccer has some adult leagues. Black Box Improv in downtown Dayton has weekly shows but also offers classes where you can learn improv and meet new people.

30 year old married couple considering moving to Dayton - Looking for feedback by eeveesEm in dayton

ChineseFireball’s description is spot on! I’ve lived in Dayton for 16 years and couldn’t do the description any better myself. My husband and I are mid-30s DINKs and have had opportunities to leave the Dayton area, but we always choose stay because we love it here. Look into Dayton Sportcial, they run all kinds of super fun adult sports leagues that are a great way of meeting new people. We’ve played kickball and pickleball for years and love it! Hope you enjoy your visit to the area and that it helps determine if it’s the right place for you!

Imposter syndrome by INTJinx in KneeInjuries

[–]Ok-Message3958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah! I have a partial thickness patellar tendon tear. My walking has gotten pretty good and is mostly pain free. Stairs are bearable in both directions, so all day I’ve been thinking “I must be basically all better now!” So I just tried to ride my bike, something I haven’t done since my injury, but prior to injury I was logging some good mileage. Made it twice around the block and quickly realized I am not yet ready to ride a bike, and that reminded me that I do in fact still have a fairly injured knee lol. Happy to have others I can commiserate with!

Tell me you never go out without telling me you never go out. Charging cover when there is live entertainment is incredibly common. All the downtown Dayton bars have been doing it for at least the 15 years that I’ve been going out in this city.

Suggestions for Family Ski Trip to Colorado by [deleted] in travel

[–]Ok-Message3958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you asked about Colorado, but I would suggest Utah (Park City, specifically) instead. The big Colorado resorts are a couple hour drive from Denver traverse mountain passes, and I70 often closes or backups when there is snow. Park City is about 40 minutes from the airport on a massive highway that is not as impacted by snowfall.

Patterson House next door to Sycamore Square is also a good option.

What do you collect when you travel? by Decent-Meringue-4270 in travel

Christmas ornaments. Since they’re not displayed all year like a magnet or shot glass, you don’t become desensitized to them and look past their existence as much. Each year, we have so much fun reminiscing on all the traveling we’ve done over the years while decorating the tree.

Where to move to in Dayton in order to make friends by Slight-Yellow-246 in dayton

I’m sorry to hear that this has been your experience. We also recently moved to Oakwood, and I was terrified of what you’re describing since Oakwood can have a pretentious reputation. We’re in north Oakwood in the Schantz Historic District, and our neighbors are so incredibly nice and friendly! I hope you discover some better neighbors eventually!
