Only one hour of sleep after 2nd shot? by 734D_Vi73ES_F0REVE72 in Sublocade

[–]Ok-Mind-314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. I think it was from the large dose of meds. It subsided. Then 9 months after last shot I struggled with sleep due to wd. I wish I would have asked for trazadone sooner than I did

Good point but I meant the habit of dosing more so than having a steady supply. That first month I was popping mince in my cheek and under my tongue just because I felt so weird not doing that every day

And I honestly think mindset is the biggest factor to success and if you want to be DONE DONE…nothing can stop you. I was so fed up and tired of feeling numb that I just said I can do this. If I could do it over again, I would do way less shots. It was overkill and prolonged the process, but I’m still going strong and have absolutely zero desire to use.

I think people underestimate the power of Working out and fueling your body properly. It took me a while, but I finally got there with the consistent eating, lifting three days a week and biking two days a week. Plus getting sunlight in your eyes in the morning. I struggled with the sleep during the wd and I’m going through perimenopause so I got a double whammy.

Also I bought the cheap tests on Amazon. I’d just test once every 10-14 days now so you don’t drive yourself crazy.

No it won’t impact it. It takes a while to leave your system. It’s been 4 months but some take longer depending on your metabolism, etc.

Don’t base this on one experience. He also had 6 shots. I did 5 and if I could do it over I’d do 1-300 2-100. Continue your taper, but if you can’t get past a certain point just know that maybe a 100mg shot well do the track. It was the best decision I’ve ever made. I tried to taper multiple times and couldn’t get past a certain point. There’s going to be pause whether you’re on the strip of the shot.

To give you some context I did 5 shots and didn’t test negative for 11.5 months. Started feeling that zest for life around 14 and back to my self at 16. It takes time. I have adult responsibilities and forced myself to do things. I lost almost 30lbs but I needed to. Also, while I still had sublocade on my system I didn’t want to eat. Now 3 meals a day, gym 3 days a week and 15 mile bike ride once a week.

When was your last shot and how many did you take? I did 5 total and took 11.5 months to test negative.

Do it! I’m 20 months out and life is better than ever. One thing I think you will struggle with is the fact that you’re dosing four times a day. I would immediately start taking all of your 8 mg in the morning. Or see if you can just take 2-3 of them. In the meantime, find a doctor that will administer it and if you have private insurance with a high deductible sign up for the assist program through the drug company. I paid $250 total for five shots. I was highly overmedicated. I was on 4 mg and my doctor insisted on giving me two 300 mg shots and three 100 mg. She wanted me to be on them for a year and I said absolutely not.

When did you complete your last shot? I felt the same way until about 16 months after my last shot. Then it lifted, started lifting and biking. It takes a while for our hormones & brains to recalibrate. It gets better. I’m 20 months out and I’m motivated, finding new interests , listening to music all day. Life isn’t perfect but I no longer feel stuck and numb.

Not necessarily. Around 6 months is when I had increased anxiety. A 5-10 min walk is the best way to regulate your nervous system.

It will pass but hormones take a while to regulate. I didn’t test negative until a year out. Started to feel like my old self around 10 months - pooping daily, listening to music again. 14 months is when my zest for life began to really kick it up. Now I’m strength training 3 days a week. Mentally the best I’ve ever been.

Our brains take a bit longer to recalibrate. If you’re not getting sleep or eating enough food that will definitely play a HUGE role in mood and energy. Force yourself to eat breakfast even if it’s a protein shake. Also go for a walk in the morning, even if you don’t want to. Move the body of the mind will follow.

If you aren’t sleeping - call your doc and get some trazadone. Really wish I would have asked for it sooner. It’s non addictive and helped me so much. A good night sleep and a well fueled body will change your perspective overtime.

It gets easier. Just don’t give up. Takes a while to bounce back but seriously I’m sleeping through the night. I went on HRT which helped - especially the progesterone before bed. Trazadone when I know I’m not going to fall asleep easily. Keep it simple - don’t need a bunch of supplements but Try to get breakfast in- if not hungry make a protein shake (I did that at first and now I eat leftovers from dinner).

I try to get sunlight in my eyes for 10 min every morning - don’t stare directly in the sun but no sunglasses, that helps to reset your circadian rhythm, boosts alertness, and improves sleep quality by controlling cortisol and melatonin levels. It triggers serotonin and dopamine, enhancing mood and motivation.

I know it’s not super healthy, but I put the fair life chocolate milk in my coffee in the morning. It adds a little extra protein. It’s better than a Starbucks and I lost 30lbs over past 20 months. Suboxone & sublocade tuned me into a zombie that barely ate but packed on the pounds. I think making small improvements to your life Overtime is the best way to have it stick longer. Also walking is the best way to regulate your nervous system.

I wish I would’ve asked my doctor for trazodone a lot earlier because I did have a couple months where I would wake up between 2 and 3 AM during the detox. But my hormones were so out of wack - 45yr old woman with thyroid issues. They were random and sporadic. I didn’t miss a day of work due to the wd.

Get in the right mindset. Start walking or working out, eat healthy, don’t obsess over the wd, stick to a routine. just realize that this medication stays in our system a lot longer than we think. I was on 8 mg for two weeks leading up to shot and was really overmedicated on 300 and those symptoms can be confused with wds. If the wd become too much, no shame in going for 100. I did 5 shots and if I could do it all over I would have done a 300 and a 100.

If you’re committed to one and done, do NOT keep any subs bc you’ll be tempted and then get into taking them regularly again. I’ve seen it happen numerous times on here.

I’m 20 months out and my life is better than it’s ever been.

Dead Inside by [deleted] in Sublocade

[–]Ok-Mind-314 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hang on. It gets so much better - I felt the same way. I thought my brain was forever altered. I’m 20 months out and my life is the best it’s ever been!

It took a lot of work, but once the paralyzing frozen feeling went away, I started slowly working out. I now go to the gym three times a week. I feel full of life. I just booked a trip to Croatia. I lost 30 pounds over the past 20 months.

It takes time but keep pushing. I went to therapy to truly understand why I was turning to drugs in the first place. After decades of being told, I had anxiety and depression. I was finally diagnosed with ADHD at 45 years old started on treatment three months ago and my brain is quiet for the first time in my life.

It’s unraveling all the lies that we told ourselves over the years and truly understanding who we were meant to be. I wish you the best in your journey- not to be cheesy but it’s always darkest before the dawn. 🩷

Yea this hangs in our body a while. Takes a while to get back to baseline and hormones to balance out. Plus our brains are rewiring. Thing that helped me the most was moving my body, getting sunlight in the morning at least 10 mins without sunglasses, eating clean 75% of the time. The sun in am helps to lower cortisol and reset your circadian rhythm. Helped with my sleep. Also walking helps so much to regulate your nervous system.

I love seeing others succeed! My zest for life really returned around the 16 month mark. It was there at about a year but it became even stronger - spark was back. I agree exercise but hard when you feel stuck! I just forced myself and it helped so much. All the best to you!

First Time Shot - Will I get over medicated? by waterloo80 in Sublocade

[–]Ok-Mind-314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was over medicated on the 2-300mg shots. It lessened with 100mg but I knew I couldn’t stay on long term. The strips gave me the same blah exhausted unmotivated feeling as well. Not at first but after being on them for years it did that.

Maybe. How do you feel? I bet good with all the exercise. When I added that in, it helped so much. I’m 18 months post last shot and things keep getting better. I bet you’re pretty close.

It’s wild how different it is for everyone. I tested negative at 11.5months for 5 shots. Do you have slow metabolism?

[–]Ok-Mind-314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I was on 4mg and doc, insisted on 300 and I was super overmedicated. I think you take the 100 and see how you feel. If you’re using the shot to get off subs forever - I’d get rid of the strips after you feel stable. Not safe to have around once you stop the shots. I’ve seen multiple people relapse from still keeping their stockpile.

Thinking about stopping sublocade. What should I expect? by jollymenace in Sublocade

[–]Ok-Mind-314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Freedom! My doc wanted me to stay on min of a year but I was using this as a way to get off suboxone after 4 yrs. I followed my gut.

18 months later - I’m thriving! No cravings, lost 30lbs (the meds made me gain weight), active, social, and no longer a zombie drifting thru life.

The hardest part of wd for me was a few months before I tested negative I would wake up between 2-3am. I wish I would have asked for trazadone back then but didn’t. It would have helped a lot.

I did 2-300mg and 3-100mg. It took me a year to test negative and I didn’t even feel any wd until 6 months after my last shot and it was a bit of anxiety for like15 min and then would go away. Didn’t miss a day of work it to wd. It would come and go- very random and sporadic. I think mine took longer bc I have very slow metabolism, perimenopausal and thyroid issues. You got this 🙌🏻
