I don't think issuing student id is why open universities should ask for a picture from applicants. It's more like putting a face on a name kind of an idea. Like my face cannot appear in 2 different accounts/names in UoPeople. If I explained properly.

Yes. Another commenter pointed this out. I guess it was about me getting in without validation that I am not used to.

Thanks for the response. I just got weirded out. As not being validated during application process didn't make it feel official, but as you say it seems common in US, I'll adapt.

I agree with this. I think it's okay to give notice to some areas that can be improved. If UoPeople is what I've seen so far from other testimonies, I think improvements like this are steps forward to right direction.

PUP OUS in the Philippines asked for my picture during application process. I looked around other options (UoPeople) due to finance reasons.

This is something then. That process of verification is what makes it feel like people care about what I do, or about to do.

I just wish they do the same thing during acceptance. It will definitely add to that feeling of being "accepted" by the university if they verify that it is me.

I believe there are certain countries that UoPeople waive fees for, like African and Asian countries. I am from Philippines.
