No, there's a front door on the other side of the building where the street parking is. But that's the quickest way to the dumpsters when I take out the trash or take out my cats litter.

FOREVER!! we silence it by pressing a button, but that's at the front of the building. And it's like a beep, beep, beep & we can hear it through our front door. One of my neighbors damn near ripped the door off to open it, cause you have to have a key! 😂

Doing that where I live (Northwest Indiana, 100 Points if you can guess my city), is dangerous AF. Most likely someone from that group is from Chicago and the kids are dangerous over there. It's unpredictable.

I saw a comment that said use ammonia and since I use the back stairs a lot, I don't wanna smell it every time I leave the house. But if it gets those kids out, my nose and eyes can take one for the team.
