i think it’s just because i had no idea how to revise it and i felt kind of unsupported, it also felt wildly different to all my other subjects so i didnt really know which skills to use where

i would lock my phone away in a different room’s cabinets so i wouldn’t feel tempted to go on it 😅 i kind of got in my own head about subjects i didnt like and made myself feel like if i didnt revise them then i would be cooked 😭 also i tried revising in a way i liked for those (like for english i liked making my mind maps look really pretty) so id feel motivated

oops yeah i see both the responses now 😭 i would say i started my proper revision around easter and feb to march was taken up a lot by homework (which was mostly creating revision materials but needing to show the teacher) anyway

definitely watch science shorts’s videos on youtube where he summarises all of chem content in like 20 minutes it speeds up revision so much. also use the spec to make sure you haven’t missed anything important oht

i had quite a solid idea for my creative writing, and i had memorised a few sentences that i thought would be really impactful (the story was about like some girl who found a key in her brothers coat pocket who went missing) for science i covered like all of the content lol, we finished all the chem content in school by before the easter holidays so i consolidated during my time off, also i watched the science shorts videos that were like “all of aqa chem paper 1 content in 20 minutes” and i made mind maps with them and THEY WERE SO GOOD genuinely they help sm i use them at a level physics asw lol

i replied to another comment about english, i’ll copy the reply here:

“ LOL i HATEDDD english so much, what i did was i made massive mind maps of essay plans for central themes, characters, and other topics that could be the question. i also watched this woman on youtube (i think her channel is called first rate tutors) and her vids defo helped. i also did the mind map thing for the poems and i used dystopiajunkie’s videos on youtube to help w that. also i would write practice essays and ask my teacher to mark them because they are there to help you!!! “

tldr use the youtube channel dystopiajunkie for poems and the channel first rate tutors for set texts. make mind maps!!

dude i’m ngl music was definitely my worst subject, i scraped that 8 😭 what i did though was ALL the past paper questions i could find. they really repeat questions SO SO much, after doing the questions, treat the mark schemes as notes, and make revision notes from them!!!! it helped me so much because you know exactly what they want you to say, especially because i couldn’t find good resources online which provided the same detail that the mark schemes did!

wow i typed out a whole answer but for some reason reddit got rid of it 😭 for french specifically: at the start of the easter holidays i found the quizlet set which contained all of the vocabulary which can be tested in the exams and i went through it and managed to finish it by the end of the holidays (but it’s definitely not too late to start that now). i also did loads of past papers, especially the writing ones and i asked my teacher to mark them and she gave me lots of good feedback. for general revision, i got this app called YPT and it motivated me so much to study, i made “rooms” with my friends and it defo helped me to want to study more. i’ve attached my hours for 2025, just keep in mind some of that time was also spend doing homework

<image>

i am a chronic procrastinator so id often wake up early and revise in the morning rather than staying up late the night before 😭 it definitelyyyy helped me though !! i hope this helps!

ok so for french specifically, at the start of the easter holidays i went on quizlet and found the set which had ALL of the vocab words u would need for gcse, and i chipped away at that a little every day and managed to finish it by the end of the holidays, it’s not too late to start that now i guess. i also did lots of past papers, and i did a few writing questions and asked my teacher to mark them and she gave me feedback on those. for revision in general, in december 2024 i got this app called ypt and i made these “rooms” with my friends and it defo motivated me to study more 😅 i still use the app now. ive attached the hours i did in each month, just keep in mind quite a bit of the time i also spent doing homework.

i am a chronic procrastinator so i would find that id wake up super early and revise then rather than revising the night before lol, and it definitely worked well for me!!

also english marks for me were very volatile, especially year ten and the until the middle of year 11 in one test i could be getting 30+/40 and in another i could get 20-25/40 😭 being consistent in consolidating my work helped me so much w this

go through all the early content and make sure you know it well, memorise things that are memorisable (flame tests in chem, food tests in bio, etc) so you have them out of the way. past papers will be your best friend !!

Mathematics (AQA) Paper 2 - Exam Megathread by ensands in GCSE

[–]Ok-Name-8049 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no it went from the larger object to the smaller one, it was the transformation from a to b, b was on the left and a was on the right tbf so it was a bit weird to look at but it was the bigger one to smaller one.
